Up to serial number D1224G2V3181, the version with part number A227704280 is fitted; after that, a different one. The two look similar and are not interchangeable – if you order the wrong one, you end up with a part that fits nowhere.

The tap itself is a purely mechanical component. A handle, a spindle, a gasket on a seat. It wears where heat, limescale and hand force come together: right at the sealing seat.

When it is due

Signs are constant hissing or dripping with the handle closed, a handle without a clear stop, a catching rotation, moisture on the valve body and dripping that quickly returns after a gasket service.
