This is how you prepare a successful espresso with the Outin Nano

1. The right preparation

  • Use the right quality ground coffee.
  • Screw on the portafilter tightly or install the coffee grounds/capsule holder properly.
  • Only remove the Outin Nano for heating when the power indicator lights up for at least two cells.

2. Charge the device

  • To charge, use a 5V/2A or 5V/3A USB wall charger with at least 10W power.
  • If the power indicators flash five times and the device beeps three times during operation, the power is too low.
  • Only use the device after it is fully charged.

3. Prepare the espresso

  • Fill the portafilter with 18 g of ground coffee.
  • Press the coffee firmly using the tamper plate.
  • Close the portafilter and place it in the Outin Nano.
  • Choose the amount of coffee you want (30, 60 or 90 ml).
  • Start the extraction.
  • Enjoy your espresso!

Additional tips

  • For a particularly aromatic espresso, you should freshly grind the coffee.
  • Use a tamper to press the coffee evenly in the portafilter.
  • Make sure the Outin Nano is fully charged before removing it for heating.
  • Select the desired amount of coffee according to the cup size.
  • If you want to make an espresso with milk, you should prepare the milk foam using a milk frother.

I hope these tips help you prepare a successful espresso with the Outin Nano.

FAQ: Outin Nano

Q1: What to do if the coffee doesn't come out?

Hello!

If the coffee doesn't come out, it may be because air pressure has built up in the device. To fix this, you can run the device with cold water before each operation. You don't need to install the portafilter, just click the extraction button twice. This can not only clean the inner part, but also avoid this problem.

If that doesn't help, you can turn the housing upside down and dismantle the portafilter. Then pour some cold water into the water outlet. Finally, click the extraction button twice to release the air pressure. This should fix the problem in most cases.

Q2: How many cups can I make in one batch?

The original espresso works best when extracted with 50ml of water (this makes 1 shot of 30ml espresso). Therefore, I would recommend that you should brew 50ml each time. With a full charge you can then prepare 5 cups. If you use 80ml of water, the machine can only extract 3 cups.

Q3: What to do if the machine doesn't work?

If the machine beeps but doesn't run, it could be due to one of the following problems:

  • The battery is almost empty. Press the power button to check if the battery is below 2 bars. If so, charge it fully before use.
  • The battery overheating protection is activated. Please wait 5 minutes before brewing your next coffee.
  • The boil-dry protection is switched on. Make sure there is water in the tank before operating.
  • Short circuit/open circuit protection is activated. In this case, you should contact Outin for help.

Q4: How to avoid water leakage (failed extraction)?

  • For ground coffee:
    • Check that the ground coffee is not too full. The ideal capacity is 5-6 grams, about 80% full.
    • Check that you have mashed the ground coffee before closing the lid.
    • Check whether you have inserted the holder correctly into the portafilter.
    • Check that you have inserted the portafilter and screwed it tight.
  • For coffee capsules:
    • Make sure you press the capsule firmly into the holder.
    • Check whether you have inserted the capsule holder correctly into the portafilter.
    • Make sure you screw the portafilter securely into the body.

Q5: I pressed the button but it didn't heat and the espresso is cold, what to do?

If you press the button for more than 5 seconds, the coffee will be extracted without heating the cold water. Please only press the button for 2 seconds until you hear the beep and then release it.

Q6: How can I successfully pierce the capsule's film every time?

  • First press the capsule firmly into the holder.
  • Insert the capsule holder correctly into the portafilter.
  • Screw the portafilter firmly into the body, otherwise the brew may fail.

Q7: What to do if Outin Nano cannot charge?

Check your wall charger and see if the output is 5V/3A. The Outin Nano only supports adapters compatible with 5V/3A.

Attention: If your device has not been used for a long time, it may take longer to charge. Please be patient.

Q8: Can I use the device while charging?

No, the device cannot be used while charging. Before long-term storage, you should fully charge the battery.

Q9: How do I know if the machine is about to die?

If the lights flash 2 times and beep 1 time, it means the battery is low
