Spare parts and accessories Comandante
Buy Comandante Accessories and Spare Parts Switzerland
Comandante is a German manufacturer – the grinders are handcrafted and assembled in Germany. The C40 (currently as MK4 Nitro Blade) grinds with a 39mm conical burr set made of high-nitrogen stainless steel and has been considered a benchmark among hand grinders since its introduction in 2013. It can be disassembled without tools in a few minutes, and all parts are modularly replaceable – accordingly, it will accompany you for many years. Coffee Coaching Club carries the complete Comandante accessory and spare parts range.
Spare parts and maintenance
For long-term care of your Comandante: O-ring, central shaft made of stainless steel, the disc set, and cleaning brushes (Long Neck for deep cleaning, Barista Brush #1, and the large Max No 2). The grinder is explicitly designed for disassemblability: opened without tools, burr set out, cleaned with the brush, reassembled. Important: no water in the burr set. This keeps the grind pattern and operation constant for years.
Bean hoppers
The C40 holds about 40g per fill. You have a choice of hoppers: the polymer version (in many colors, also as Large) is light and robust – ideal for travel. The glass version (also as a set of four, with a matching replacement lid) is classic, lets you see the ground coffee directly, and does not absorb flavors, but is heavier.
Personalization – Knobs, Cranks, Protection
For wooden knobs, the selection ranges from the Oak series (smoked, natural, smoked black) to the colorful Beech-Wood-Color series in 44 mm (Red, Wine Red, Pink, Purple, Blue, Yellow) and the Skateboard Edition. The latter is made from recycled skateboard material, making each knob optically unique – in 44 mm for the C40 and 55 mm for the C60.
For cranks, there are crank rods with lids (brown or transparent) as well as the longer Black Crank XL and XXL Crank versions. A longer crank means more leverage, less effort, and a more comfortable rotation – noticeably so with hard light roasts or larger quantities. For transport, the Felt protective cover (in many colors) protects against scratches and impacts.
Grind size resolution – Red Clix
Standard adjustment makes 12 clicks per full rotation. The Red Clix RX35 Drivetrain upgrade kit doubles the number of steps to about 24 clicks per rotation – the steps become finer and dialing in for espresso more precise. It's not essential for a pure filter focus with a stable bean; for espresso or switching between different beans, it's noticeably worthwhile. This is our assessment, one of many.
Complementary Outdoor Tools (Hario)
For coffee on the go, two Hario-Zebrang parts complement the Comandante set: the Coffee Canister (50 g) for beans and the insulated drinking cup with lid and sieve for direct brewing. Comandante grinds, Hario brews on the go.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which knob fits the Comandante C40?
This is purely a matter of taste. The Oak series (smoked, natural, smoked black) is classic and warm. The Beech-Wood-Color series in 44 mm adds colorful accents. The Skateboard Edition is made from recycled skateboard material, making each knob unique – in 44 mm for the C40 and 55 mm for the C60.
Black Crank XL or XXL Crank?
The Black Crank XL is the longer standard upgrade with more leverage and a more comfortable rotation. The XXL Crank is even longer for the greatest leverage advantage. For classic home use, the XL is sufficient; for larger quantities or maximum comfort, the XXL is the choice.
Is the Red Clix worth it?
Standard C40 has about 12 clicks per rotation. The Red Clix RX35 doubles the steps to about 24 per rotation and makes the steps finer – this significantly helps with espresso dialing-in. For pure filter with stable beans, it's not essential, but for espresso or changing beans, it's worthwhile.
Polymer or glass bean hopper?
Polymer is lighter and more robust, making it ideal for travel. Glass is classic, lets you see the ground coffee, and does not absorb flavors, but is heavier and more fragile. Polymer for on the go, glass for home.
How do I clean my Comandante?
Tool-free in a few minutes: remove knob, remove crank, open housing, remove burr set, brush off with the cleaning brush, and reassemble everything. Important: no water in the burr set. Deeper cleaning every few months keeps the grind consistent.
Can I see the options before buying?
Yes, in the showrooms in Bern and Zurich Oerlikon. We show the knob variations, crank options, and Red Clix directly on the demo device.
