How it works – in 5 steps

  1. Drop-off You bring your appliance to us in Bern or Zürich or send it to us after a quick chat, and you pay a deposit of CHF 400. At the same time, you set your cost cap.
  2. Diagnosis We check your appliance in the specialist workshop or at the brand’s general importer.
  3. Approval If the repair is within your cost cap, we go straight ahead. If it costs more, you first receive a cost estimate.
  4. Service We carry out the work and test your appliance.
  5. Return You collect your appliance from the shop or we send it back to you. You pay the balance, after deduction of the deposit, on collection or before the return shipment.

It usually takes 1–2 weeks, depending on the work involved and the availability of spare parts.

What it costs

  • Cost estimate: CHF 150 incl. VAT, plus shipping. The fee is due as soon as we have started the diagnosis, even if you then decide not to have the repair carried out. If you commission the repair, we credit you CHF 75.
  • Cost cap: You decide up to what amount we may carry out repairs without checking with you. Above that, you first receive a cost estimate, which you approve in writing; an email is enough. We do nothing without your okay.
  • Deposit: CHF 400 incl. VAT, before your appliance comes to us: in the shop when you drop it off or, for shipping or pickup, in advance via a payment link. We credit it to you in full; if the invoice is lower, we refund the difference to you. For warranty claims, there is no deposit; if the defect is not covered, we may request it subsequently.
  • Payment: You pay the remainder on collection or before the return shipment.
  • Shipping and pickup: not included unless expressly stated. We only ship and arrange pickups with insurance and charge the actual costs of transport and insurance.

You can find all the rules in our Service Terms.

Service packages (incl. VAT)

Repairs are not included; we charge for them based on time and materials.

Service or warranty claim?

If you bought your appliance from us and it shows a material or manufacturing defect within the statutory warranty period, that is a warranty claim. Wear and tear on wear parts, limescale or lack of care are not a warranty claim but a case for a service.

Report a warranty claim via our service portal or in the shop; we don’t handle service cases by email. No cost estimate fee is charged for justified warranty claims.

Frequently asked questions

How does a service with you work?

In five steps: drop-off, diagnosis, approval, service, return. You bring your appliance to us in Bern or Zürich or send it after a quick chat; beforehand, you pay a deposit of CHF 400 incl. VAT, which we credit to you in full. We check it and get started as soon as the work has been approved. It usually takes 1–2 weeks.

Where can I drop off my machine?

In Bern at Gerberngasse 44 (Mon–Sat 10–18 h) and in Zürich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b (Tue–Sat 10–17 h). Shipping or pickup is also possible, but please only after contacting us. That way we know your appliance is on its way, and you receive the information on packaging, insurance and costs.

How much is the cost estimate?

CHF 150 incl. VAT, plus any shipping costs. The fee is due as soon as we have started the diagnosis, because the diagnosis takes workshop time. If you commission the repair, we credit you CHF 75.

What is a cost cap?

An amount that you set and up to which we may carry out repairs without checking with you. If the repair stays below it, we carry on without any waiting time. If it costs more, you first receive a cost estimate.

What is included in a service package?

You will find this on the page for each brand. For the Rocket service, for example, it includes descaling and an overhaul of the brew group, incl. replacement of all relevant seals and wear parts. Repairs are not included: we charge for them based on time and materials, without checking with you up to your cost cap.

Can I buy the service directly online?

No. You request it free of charge. Before your appliance comes to us, you pay a deposit of CHF 400 incl. VAT: in the shop when you drop it off or, for shipping or pickup, in advance via a payment link. We credit it to you in full; if the invoice is lower, we refund the difference to you. For warranty claims, there is no deposit; if the defect is not covered, we may request it subsequently. The cost estimate fee is only charged once we start the diagnosis of your appliance.

How long does a service take?

Usually 1–2 weeks, depending on the work involved and the availability of spare parts. If we need to order parts or forward your appliance to the manufacturer, it may take longer.

Which brands do you repair?

Our focus is on Rocket Espresso and La Marzocco. For Bezzera, Torre and Victoria Arduino, we work with the general importer. For other brands (e.g. ECM, Profitec, Quick Mill) and for grinders (e.g. Mahlkönig, Eureka), just send us a quick enquiry.

Service or warranty claim – what is the difference?

A warranty claim is a material or manufacturing defect in an appliance you bought from us, within the statutory warranty period under our Terms and Conditions (clause 9). Wear and tear, limescale and lack of care are a case for a service. No cost estimate fee is charged for justified warranty claims.

How do I send in my machine?

Please only after checking with us. Shipping and pickup are not included in the price: we only ship and arrange pickups with insurance and charge the actual costs. Pack your machine very well, ideally in the original packaging; we are not liable for damage due to inadequate packaging by you, and in that case, as a rule, the carrier is not liable either. With our reply, you receive all the information and the payment link for the deposit.

Is there a guarantee on your work?

Yes: we give a 6-month workshop guarantee on our work and the parts fitted. If a defect appears during this time, we fix it free of charge, without you having to prove that it was already there when the appliance was returned to you. Please check your appliance when it is returned to you and report defects immediately as soon as you notice them. Mandatory statutory rights remain reserved. Details: Service Terms clause 9.

Is it worth repairing an older machine?

With high-quality machines such as La Marzocco or larger Rocket models, almost always. With older or less expensive machines, we will tell you honestly if a repair is no longer worthwhile. The cost estimate shows you this before you put money into the repair.
