Pour-over is the most direct way to brew coffee: water, grounds, gravity, filter. Nothing more is needed. But within this simplicity lies an entire world of dripper types, materials, and brewing philosophies. Hario V60 from Japan is the absolute classic (60-degree cone, curved internal ribs, optimized for clear cup profiles). Hoop Coffee Brewer from Ceado shows the flat-bed variant. Hario SWITCH combines pour-over with immersion. Weber Workshops BIRD brings premium engineering to the manual filter segment.
Coffee Coaching Club carries around 40 active pour-over models from seven brands. Hario dominates the range with the V60 family in nearly every material and color variant. Alongside that, specialty designs from Timemore, Normcore, and Brewista, plus premium pieces from Varia and Weber Workshops.
60-degree cone with curved internal ribs. The curved ribs act as bypass channels for air and water, so water flows evenly through the bed. A classic design for clear, light cup profiles. Hario makes the V60 in porcelain, glass, stainless steel, copper, and many colors (white, matt black, light blue, dark green, indigo blue, light green, orange, pink, purple, turquoise blue/green, yellow).
A flat filter bed instead of a cone. The coffee bed is flatter, extraction more even across the entire surface. Popular in specialty filter setups seeking high fidelity. Ceado Hoop Coffee Brewer (CHF 39) is the active flat-bed option in our range.
Hario developed a hybrid design with the SWITCH: you can switch between pour-over (drip mode) and immersion (blocked mode). For specialty profiles that call for longer contact time. Hario Immersion Coffee Dripper SWITCH 200ml (CHF 44) and SWITCH 360ml (CHF 56), as well as the Hario MUGEN x SWITCH Dripper (CHF 49) as a special edition.
Weber Workshops BIRD (CHF 334) is in the premium league – design-studio pour-over with an uncompromising build. Varia FLO Dripper (CHF 79, a Varia x Kurasu Kyoto collaboration) brings Flexible Liquid Output (FLO) to the pour-over workflow.

The Hario V60 Porcelain 3-4 cups is available in eight colors:
For setups where the dripper is on display, it's a real design question. Functionally, all colors are identical.
A complete pour-over setup typically consists of five components: (1) Dripper (V60 or flat-bed), (2) Paper filter (matching the dripper), (3) Carafe / server, (4) Gooseneck kettle for controlled pouring, (5) Hand or electric grinder suitable for filter grinds. For specialty profiles, additionally (6) a scale (Acaia Pearl or Lunar) and (7) a thermometer.
For the grinder: hand coffee grinders are the classic pairing – Comandante C40 MK4, 1Zpresso J-Ultra / K-Ultra, Timemore Chestnut. For electric: Mahlkönig X54, Varia VS6. For professional filter brewing in cafés: Mahlkönig EK43 / EK43 S. For gooseneck kettles: kettle collection. For carafes: coffee pots, Chemex. For precision scales: Acaia Pearl S. For thermometers: thermometer collection. For filter paper and accessories: the full Hario collection. For cups: Loveramics, cups and glasses. For cleaning filter components: Urnex pour-over cleaner. For beans from our own roastery: CCC house roasts – pour-over loves light specialty roasts like Wild Peach and Bright Cassis.
Porcelain (Hario V60, CHF 19–37): retains heat best, classic look, somewhat fragile. Glass (Hario V60 Glass, CHF 20–22): you can see the extraction as it brews, visually transparent, medium heat retention. Metal / stainless steel (CHF 44): unbreakable, lower heat retention, good for travel. Copper (CHF 81): premium look, fast heat uptake. For a specialty workflow, porcelain or glass is the first choice; for travel, metal.
Two different designs with a different cup character. V60: conical design, optimized for clear, light profiles, calls for more experience with pour-over technique. Hoop (flat-bed): flatter coffee bed, more even extraction, somewhat more forgiving of technique variations. For those newer to specialty, Hoop is often the simpler choice. For classic specialty workflows, V60 remains the first choice.
Switching between pour-over (drip mode, classic V60 workflow) and immersion (blocked mode, longer contact time) happens with a flip. A flexible tool for specialty profiles you want to experiment with. SWITCH 200ml (CHF 44) for 1-2 cups, SWITCH 360ml (CHF 56) for 2-4 cups.
If you see pour-over as a central part of your workflow and value uncompromising design language and material quality: yes. The BIRD isn't a functional leap over a classic V60, but it is a statement piece in design ambition and choice of materials. For setups meant to be a stage.
A collaboration between Varia (CCC is the exclusive Swiss importer) and Kurasu Kyoto. FLO stands for Flexible Liquid Output – you can vary the output speed on the dripper. For specialty baristas looking to take their pour-over workflow to the next level. Price CHF 79.
V60: V60-specific conical paper filters. Hoop: specific Hoop filters. SWITCH: V60 filters are compatible. Brewista Tornado: V60 filters fit. Weber BIRD: specific BIRD filters. All filter papers available at CCC – we'll help you choose the right one.
Medium-coarse to coarse (visual comparison: fine sand to coarse salt). For hand grinders: Comandante C40 (15–20 clicks), 1Zpresso J-Ultra / K-Ultra (equivalent setting), Timemore Chestnut. For electric: Mahlkönig X54, Eureka Mignon Filtro, Varia VS3/VS6 on the filter setting. In the showroom, we'll help you dial in the grind size for your dripper.
A complete set for getting started with pour-over: Timemore Chestnut C3S Pro hand grinder, gooseneck kettle, filter holder, thermometer, brush, and glass carafe – all in one box, CHF 209. Perfect as a gift or as an uncompromising all-in-one starting point.
