Hario V60 Dripper & Server Set 02 – Candy Edition: Filter Coffee in Color

You want to start with Pour Over – but don't know what you need?

You've heard of the V60, you've seen the videos, you finally want to brew yourself. But then you face the question: Which dripper, which server, which filters? The Hario V60 Candy Edition solves that in one box: dripper, server, 40 filters, measuring scoop – all color-coordinated, all Made in Japan, ready to use immediately. Unpack, pour, enjoy.

Available in six colors: Bamboo Green, Desert Red, Flamingo Pink, Koi Orange, Ocean Blue, and Sunflower Yellow.

Why the V60 – and why from the Coffee Coaching Club?

The Hario V60 is not just any dripper – it is the world's most used pour-over brewer in the specialty coffee scene. Barista world champions brew with it, roasters worldwide cup with it. So we not only know what this thing can do – we work with it every day.

What's in the set – and what each component does

V60 Dripper Size 02 (Plastic, 1–4 cups): The conical 60° shape – hence the name V60 – directs the water to the center of the coffee bed. This is where the contact time is longest, and the extraction is most even. The spiral ribs on the inner wall lift the paper filter off the dripper: This allows the coffee to "breathe" and expand evenly, similar to flannel filtration. The single, large hole at the bottom gives you full control – pour quickly for a lighter body, slowly for more fullness.

V60 Range Server 600 ml (heat-resistant glass): Borosilicate glass, microwave-safe, with a scale for cup quantities. The plastic lid keeps the coffee warm while you brew and prevents splashing when pouring. Odor and color neutral – the server does not absorb any flavors, even after a hundred brews.

40 V60 Paper Filters (Size 02, bleached): Hario's standard filters from Japan. They cleanly filter out oils and fine particles, delivering a clear, transparent cup – the opposite of French press coffee. Enough for the first 40 cups; you can find refills in our Hario assortment.

Measuring Scoop (12 g): For a quick start without a scale. For more precise results, we recommend a coffee scale with a timer – for example, the Timemore Black Mirror Basic 2 (with flow rate function and USB-C) or the Rhino Coffee Brewing Scale as a reliable entry-level option.

Coffee Coaching Club Tip: Flavor Chemistry in Pour Over

Why does V60 coffee taste so different from espresso? With pour over, you extract with a much larger water-to-coffee ratio (approx. 1:15 to 1:17 instead of 1:2 for espresso) and significantly lower pressure. The result: The volatile, fruity and floral aroma compounds – linalool (flowery-lavender), limonene (citrus-fresh), ethyl butyrate (berry-sweet) – emerge much more clearly because they are not overshadowed by the heavy bitter compounds and oils that are released more intensely under high pressure.

The V60 geometry enhances this effect: The conical shape and single outflow hole allow you to control the flow time directly through your pouring technique. A slower, more concentric pouring method extends the contact time and dissolves more melanoidins and caramel compounds (body, sweetness). A faster, pulsating pour keeps the extraction shorter and emphasizes the bright acids – citric acid, malic acid, phosphoric acid – which make the coffee appear lively and fresh.

Our starter recipe: 15 g coffee, medium-fine ground (like fine sand), 250 ml water at 93–96 °C. 30 seconds blooming with 30 ml, then pour in circular motions in 2–3 pulses. Total time: 2:30–3:00 minutes. For grinding, we recommend a single-dose grinder – freshly ground beans make the biggest difference in pour over.

Setting Up Your Gear

The V60 dripper is your entry point – and at the same time, a tool with which you can grow for years. Combine the set with a high-quality grinder for freshly ground coffee, a Timemore Black Mirror Basic 2 or the budget-friendly Rhino Brewing Scale for weight and timer on a display, and our in-house roasts – we recommend a light to medium roast to start, where the origin flavors clearly come through.

Want to dive deeper? The Hario Switch combines immersion and percolation in one brewer – the perfect addition if you want to explore both worlds.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Hario V60 Candy Edition Set

What is included in the set?
A V60 Dripper Size 02 (plastic), a heat-resistant glass server (600 ml), 40 bleached paper filters, and a measuring scoop (12 g). Everything is color-coordinated.

Is the dripper made of plastic – can it withstand hot water?
Yes. The dripper is made of AS resin/polypropylene, heat-resistant up to 90 °C. Plastic even has an advantage: it insulates better than ceramic and cools down the brewing process less.

Which filters fit after the first 40 pieces?
Standard Hario V60 paper filters in size 02. We carry these in our Hario assortment.

Do I need a special scale for Pour Over?
A scale with a timer makes getting started much easier. We recommend the Timemore Black Mirror Basic 2 or the Rhino Brewing Scale – both available in our shop.

Can I use the server in the microwave?
Yes, the glass server is made of heat-resistant borosilicate glass and is microwave-safe. Just remove the plastic lid beforehand.
