Hario V60 Immersion Dripper Switch – Pour-Over and Immersion in One

Pouring in, the water doesn't run straight through – it sits in the dripper instead: the coffee steeps, you wait, and at the push of a button the cup drains evenly.

The V60 Switch brings two worlds together: the clarity of a classic V60 pour-over and the dense, round body of a French press immersion. A steel ball in the base holds the water back; the lever releases it when you're ready. We carry Hario at Coffee Coaching Club.

How the Switch works

Coffee and water go into the dripper, the ball seals the outlet, and the coffee steeps for as long as you like – often around two minutes. Then you flip the lever, the ball opens the path, and the coffee drains through the filter. Because steeping time shapes the result, your pouring technique matters less – which makes the Switch easy to plan around.

Ceramic or glass

The coloured versions are ceramic, the clear one is heat-resistant glass. The base is silicone, the switch is PCT resin, the ball is stainless steel. Ceramic holds the heat longer, glass lets you watch the flow – both give you the same clean cup.

Who it's for

For anyone who wants predictable, repeatable brewing and doesn't want to commit to either a clear or a dense cup. If you prefer pouring the classic way, the V60 NEO is a great fit.

What goes with it

Filter paper refills are available in our Hario Collection. Add a kettle with temperature control from our Varia Collection, a scale from the Normcore range or the Acaia Collection and a grinder from our hand grinders. Beans like Nutty Delight or the fruity Wild Peach.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference from the classic V60?

With the classic V60, water flows through continuously. The Switch holds it back with a ball, so the coffee steeps first and only drains at the push of a button – combining immersion and pour-over.

Which size should I choose?

02 (200 ml) for one to two cups, 03 (360 ml) for larger amounts. Both use the matching Hario V60 filter paper.

Is filter paper included?

Yes, a pack of Hario V60 filter paper in the matching size is included.

Can I see it before I buy?

Of course – you can experience the Switch live in Bern and Zürich Oerlikon.

Tip from our roastery

A longer steep pulls out more body and sweetness – lovely with Cozy Chocolate. Brewed shorter, the cup stays bright and lively, try it with Wild Peach. That's our recommendation – one of many.
