Hario V60 Immersion Dripper Switch – Pour-Over and Immersion in One
You pour, and instead of running straight through, the water stays in the dripper – the coffee steeps, you wait, and at the push of a button the cup drains evenly.
The V60 Switch combines the pour-over of the classic V60 with the immersion of a French press. A steel ball in the base holds the water back, and the switch releases it. The Switch is available in ceramic, in white and in colours, and in heat-resistant glass. Buy the Hario Switch in Switzerland: online, in Bern and in Zurich at Coffee Coaching Club.
Features of the Hario V60 Switch
Immersion instead of flow-through
With the classic V60, water flows through continuously while you pour. The Switch is made for immersion: coffee and water stay together in the dripper, according to Hario for around two minutes.
Steel ball in the base
A stainless steel ball in the base closes the outlet and blocks the flow. The base is made of silicone, the switch of PCT resin.
Drains at the push of a button
Pressing the switch opens the way, and the coffee drains through the filter into your cup or server. Hario describes the resulting extraction as easy and even.
Cone and base
The V60-shaped cone sits in the silicone base. Depending on the version it is made of heat-resistant glass or ceramic and takes Hario V60 filter paper in the matching size.
Ceramic or glass
The ceramic versions come in white with a black base and in pink, turquoise, black and beige, each in size 02 (200 ml). The glass version with a black base comes in size 02 (200 ml) and 03 (360 ml). Glass is the lighter version, ceramic the heavier one.

Who it's made for
For anyone who wants predictable, repeatable brewing and likes to switch between immersion and pour-over. Because steeping time shapes the result more than pouring technique, a recipe is easy to repeat. If you only pour the classic way, you'll find more drippers in the Hario Collection. You can also narrow down which brewing method suits you with our advice tool.
What goes with it
Filter paper refills are available in the Hario Collection. Add a kettle with temperature control from the Varia Collection, a scale from Normcore or, with app and flow-rate display, from Acaia, and a grinder from our hand grinders. Beans like Nutty Delight or the fruity Wild Peach.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the Hario V60 Switch and the classic V60?
With the classic V60, water flows through continuously. The Switch holds it back with a steel ball, so the coffee steeps first and only drains at the push of a button – combining immersion and pour-over.
Which size of the Hario V60 Switch should I choose?
02 (200 ml) for one to two cups, 03 (360 ml, glass only) for larger amounts. Both use the matching Hario V60 filter paper.
Is filter paper included with the Hario V60 Switch?
Yes, a pack of Hario V60 filter paper in the matching size is included.
Can I see it before I buy?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there. Delivery takes 2–4 working days, throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein.
Tip from our roastery: A longer steep pulls out more body and sweetness, for example with Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight. Brewed shorter, the cup stays bright and lively, for example with Wild Peach. That's our recommendation – one of many.
