Wild Peach – a light-roasted omniroast with peach notes

Ripe peach, a touch of berries and a light, airy freshness that spreads soft and velvety across the palate: Wild Peach is our light omniroast from Ethiopia – lively, fruity and made for anyone who loves discovering something new.

We roast it deliberately light in our Swiss coffee roastery, so the sweetness and fruity clarity are preserved.

The soul of Guji

Wild Peach comes from the Tero Farm in the Ethiopian region of Guji. At 1800 to 2200 metres above sea level, heirloom varieties thrive there on nutrient-rich volcanic soil, organically certified – a terroir that produces extraordinary aromas and complexity.

Guji lies at the heart of Arabica's region of origin – a coffee culture that runs deep and can be felt in every cup.

Light roast, light in expression

As an omniroast, Wild Peach is made for several brewing methods. The light roast preserves the natural sweetness and the balanced acidity – the result is a coffee that tastes of sun-ripened peach, with delicate berry notes and a velvety body.

Temperature and grind size steer the cup: a little finer and hotter for more sweetness in espresso, coarser and gentler in filter for clear fruit character.

How Wild Peach tastes in the cup

As espresso it turns fruity and sweet, with peach in the foreground. We extract by weight ratio, 1:2 as a starting point – around 18 g of coffee to 36 g of espresso. In filter or pour-over it opens up clearer and lighter, with delicate berry fruit and a long finish.

There's no right or wrong here – the coffee has to taste good to you, that's the only thing that counts. And because the bean, the humidity and you yourself change every day, no cup is ever quite the same as the last.

Who Wild Peach is made for

For everyone who loves light roasts and fruity nuances – and for anyone curious to discover something lively beyond chocolate and nut. Whether espresso, filter or pour-over: there's room to play here. No prior knowledge needed.

What you need for it

Light beans want an even grind. Among the coffee grinders you'll find affordable, precise options like the Varia VS3, while the Varia VS6 offers more range; for hand grinding, use the Comandante hand grinders.

For filter and pour-over, the brewers from the Hario Collection or the AeroPress – both affordable and versatile; anyone wanting more will find the BIRD in the Weber Workshops range. To get the ratio right, a scale helps: compact from the Normcore Collection, or with app and flow-rate display from the Acaia Collection.

Frequently asked questions

What does Wild Peach taste like?

Ripe peach with delicate berry notes and a hint of jasmine, paired with a light, velvety body and a lively, balanced acidity.

What does omniroast mean?

A roast level designed for several brewing methods. This means Wild Peach works just as well as espresso as it does in filter or pour-over.

Where does Wild Peach come from?

From the Tero Farm in Guji, Ethiopia, at 1800 to 2200 metres above sea level. Heirloom varieties, naturally processed, organically certified, light-roasted at Coffee Coaching Club.

Is Wild Peach suitable for espresso?

Yes. As a light omniroast it makes a fruity, sweet espresso; in filter or pour-over the fruit becomes clearer and lighter.

Where can I buy or see Wild Peach?

Online throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein with delivery in 2 to 4 working days, or directly at our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zürich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b).

The roast profile of this bean was developed by Yalcin, a qualified food chemist with over 15 years of experience in the international flavour industry, most recently as Senior Taste Designer at Philip Morris International. More about his background at our roastery.

From the roastery: Wild Peach is our discovery for the curious – fruity, light and lively. For espresso we start at 1:2 and grind on the finer side for sweetness; in pour-over the peach fruit comes through most clearly. If you prefer something more full-bodied and chocolatey, Cozy Chocolate, Nutty Delight or Very Nutty from our coffee beans are a great fit. That's our recommendation, one among many.
