CKDC coffee grounds drawer – practical and durable for your coffee grinder
Buy CKDC Coffee Grounds Drawers and Knock Boxes Switzerland
CKDC is a Swiss manufacturer of high-quality knock box and knock drawer designs. The brand is known in the specialty sector for a unique design feature: the triangular knock bar. Where classic knock boxes use round bars, CKDC distributes the force over a larger area – this leads to noticeably less wear over the lifespan and longer stability, even with intensive café workflow.
Coffee Coaching Club carries 11 active CKDC models in three design classes: Tamper Station (separate tamper holder), Puck Box (classic industrial-look knock box), and ProCub / GroundsBreaker drawers (flat, space-saving, placed under the grinder).

What differentiates CKDC from other knock box designs?
Three points set CKDC apart in the market:
- Triangular knock bar: with classic round bars, the force when knocking out is concentrated on a small area – the material fatigues faster, and the bar becomes loose over time. CKDC's triangular design distributes the force over a larger contact surface, leading to a noticeably longer lifespan.
- Shock-absorbing dampening: the interior is constructed to make the knocking sound noticeably quieter than with standard knock boxes. Important for home setups in words with early morning workflow.
- Swiss manufacturing: CKDC manufactures in Switzerland; stainless steel quality and processing level correspond to Swiss industrial standards.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a knock drawer and a classic knock box?
Classic Knock Box (e.g., CKDC Puck Box): freestanding, you place it next to or behind the grinder. Standard design for most setups. Knock Drawer (e.g., CKDC ProCub): flat design, you place the grinder directly on top of it. You knock out through a grate on the top of the drawer – space-saving, visually very clean. For setups with limited space or high design demands.
What are the benefits of the triangular knock bar?
When knocking out the portafilter, the coffee puck hits a cross-stretched bar. With round bars, the impact hits a small contact area (line contact) – over time, the material fatigues, and the bar becomes loose. With triangular bars (CKDC), the force is distributed over a larger area, leading to a noticeably longer lifespan and a more stable housing. A clear advantage for high-volume café setups and long-term home use.
ProCub 1 or ProCub 2?
ProCub 1 (200 × 300 × 55 mm, CHF 121.75 Mirror / CHF 136.70 Walnut): large footprint for wider grinder designs (e.g., Mahlkönig X54, Eureka Atom 75). ProCub 2 (140 × 240 × 55 mm, CHF 121.75 Mirror / CHF 135.95 Walnut): more compact for narrower grinders (e.g., Eureka Mignon, Atom 65). Before purchasing, it's best to measure the grinder's footprint or ask us.
Mirror or Walnut handle?
Functionally the same. Mirror: polished stainless steel look, glossy, classic. Walnut handle (pull handle wood/walnut): stylish with a warm wood accent, for home setups with mixed material aesthetics. Walnut surcharge: approx. CHF 14–15.
When is GroundsBreaker worth it instead of ProCub?
ProCub: Home setups with moderate volume (1–10 shots daily). GroundsBreaker: Café setups or home with high volume (10+ shots daily), greater height (85 mm instead of 55 mm) for more coffee grounds capacity. For standard home use, ProCub is almost always sufficient.
Are CKDC drawers really quieter?
Yes, the shock-absorbing dampening of the interior noticeably reduces the knocking sound compared to standard knock boxes. A relevant advantage for home setups with early morning workflow or open-plan kitchens.
How do I clean a CKDC drawer?
The drawer is pull-out. After each use, dispose of the coffee grounds and rinse the drawer with warm water. Occasionally clean with a mild dishwashing solution. Stainless steel is easy to clean; the construction typically lasts 10+ years of home use.
Can I test CKDC before buying?
Yes, in the showrooms in Bern and Zurich Oerlikon. We show the Puck Box, ProCub, and GroundsBreaker in direct comparison – material feel, knocking sound, drawer mechanism. For a perfectly fitting setup with your grinder, please call us beforehand.
