Bean Hopper & Storage Canisters
Buy Bean Containers and Storage Hoppers for Coffee Grinders Switzerland
The bean container – often called a hopper – is the container where the beans sit above the grinder before they fall into the burrs. Standard grinders come with an original hopper, but for specialty workflows, extensions or alternatives are often worthwhile: single-dose hoppers (small 45g version, into which you put exactly one dose), darkened hoppers (protect beans from light), larger café hoppers (1–2 kg for higher volume), or design studio hoppers (glass, wood, premium material).
Coffee Coaching Club carries 14 active bean containers from five brands. Eureka has the widest range – from 45g single-dose to 1.2kg café hoppers, always grinder-specific. Alongside these are premium pieces from Acaia, Mahlkönig, Timemore and Weber Workshops.

Understanding Hopper Designs
Transparent Hoppers (Standard): Plexiglass or polymer, you can see the bean level. Advantage: control. Disadvantage: light accelerates bean aroma degradation.
Darkened Hoppers (Eureka Mignon 45 g darkened Black, some café models): opaque polymer or aluminium. Advantage: light protection. Disadvantage: fill level not visible.
Glass Hoppers (Eureka Glass 550 g, Acaia Bean Hopper): Heavier construction, premium look. For home setups with design aesthetics.
Single-Dose Hoppers (Eureka Mignon 45 g): very small design, into which you fill the exact amount of beans per shot. For specialty workflow without a complete single-dose grinder.

Frequently Asked Questions
Eureka Mignon Single-Dose Hopper 45 g – what for?
With the 45g hopper, you convert your classic Mignon hopper grinder into a single-dose workflow. You fill approximately 18–22g of beans per shot, instead of keeping the full hopper constantly filled with 300–500g. Advantage: fresher beans per shot, multiple varieties possible simultaneously. For CHF 38–49, a very affordable workflow improvement if you already own a Mignon.
Which Eureka hopper fits my grinder?
Quick overview: Mignon family (Filtro, Specialita, Oro Stark, SMART): Mignon hopper 45 g or 300/500 g. Atom W65/W75/Excellence: Bean hopper 510 g or Blow-Up 300 g. Zenith 65 Neo / E65 HS / Atom 65: 300 g, 1.2 kg or Blow-Up 300 g. Eureka Drogheria: Blow-Up 300 g. If unsure, call or write with your grinder model.
Is the Eureka Glass 550 g Hopper for CHF 209 worth it?
If you value design aesthetics and a premium look in your setup: yes. The glass hopper is significantly heavier than the standard polymer version, has a more elegant design, and suits setups with La Marzocco, Bezzera Magica, or design-focused machines. Functionally, it is identical to standard polymer hoppers.
How does the Acaia Bean Hopper work?
The Acaia Bean Hopper (CHF 104) is a universal bean container with a variable capacity from 250 g to 2 kg – you fill more or less depending on your workflow. It has a striking design within the Acaia line and matches the Acaia Orbit and Orion Nano. For setups that switch between home and café workflow, or for home use with an aesthetic demand.
What is the Weber Workshops Bean Cellar Wall Rack?
Premium wall rack made of stainless steel and wood, dimensioned for Weber Bean Cellars (single-dose storage tubes). If you use the complete Weber single-dose ecosystem with 12 or more Bean Cellars, the Wall Rack is the natural storage solution. CHF 408. For home setups with design aesthetics and visible Bean Cellar staging.
What bean quantity is sensible in the hopper?
For home setups: only as much as you will use within 5–7 days. Beans noticeably lose aromas after about 7–10 days post-opening. For 2–3 shots per day, about 200–300 g in the hopper. For cafés: daily filling is sensible. For specialty workflow: single-dose with a 45g hopper or a complete single-dose grinder.
Can I test bean hoppers before buying?
Yes, in the showrooms in Bern and Zurich Oerlikon. We will show you how the hopper fits your grinder, whether it ensures proper bean flow, and how glass vs. polymer feels in hand. Please arrange an appointment in advance.
