As the only subminimal partner in Switzerland, we bring you innovative barista tools such as the NanoFoamer and FlowTip – for microfoam, precise pouring and perfect puck wetting in Bern and Zurich.
You have great equipment. Freshly roasted beans. The technique is spot on.
But then – the milk foam doesn't quite have the texture you'd expect. The pour isn't precise enough. The puck isn't evenly coated.
Subminimal solves these detailed problems – and is also fun to do.
As a coffee roastery, we optimize every parameter. We know that small differences have a big impact. But we also know that you use the tools you enjoy using better.
NanoFoamer – Microfoaming without a steam wand
The facts: Perfect milk foam is an emulsion of air, fat, and protein. The NanoFoamer creates this microstructure mechanically through rapid rotation – often more consistently than manual steam wand techniques, especially with milk alternatives (oat, almond) where protein structures react differently.
The truth: Yes, it works. But the real reason? You can make microfoam without an espresso machine with a steam wand . And it's simply fun. Functionality plus accessibility.
FlowTip – Precise pouring for latte art
The facts: Latte art is fluid dynamics. Viscosity, flow rate, and immersion angle determine the pattern. The FlowTip gives you control over these variables through its optimized pouring geometry.
The truth is: Does it make better latte art? Yes. But mainly: It feels precise. And that makes you more precise. Engineering plus feel.
Flick – Even puck wetting
The facts: Uniformity is crucial for espresso extraction. The Flick distributes your coffee homogeneously across the entire puck – no hot spots, no dry areas. Measurably reduces the risk of channeling.
The truth is: the improvement in taste is subtle. But the clean shower screen? The consistency? The fact that it's simply elegantly designed? Treat yourself to the details.
You don't need these tools to make good coffee. But they make the journey more enjoyable.
We carry Subminimal because we've tested every tool ourselves. We use them in our roastery. And we see: they work. But more importantly – they're fun.
Not every tool is right for everyone. But the right tools at the right time? They'll transform your coffee experience.
Subminimal tools complement any setup. The NanoFoamer works great with manual espresso machines that don't have a steam wand. The NanoScreen fits all portafilter machines and perfectly complements normcore puck preparation tools .

Does the NanoFoamer work with oat milk?
Yes, especially good. Mechanical frothing often produces better results with oats, almonds, and soy than steaming, because the protein structures react differently.
Will the Flick be compatible with my espresso machine?
Yes, flicks are universally applicable.
Can I see subminimal tools in your showrooms?

Roastery tip: The NanoFoamer works particularly well with milk alternatives. Mechanical frothing often creates a better microstructure than steam, especially with more complex protein structures. Science makes it possible, but the fun factor makes it worthwhile.
