HOTO
Buy HOTO in Switzerland – Mini cordless handheld vacuum for coffee grinder and workflow
You open the grinding chamber of your coffee grinder after cleaning. Grinds are stuck in all corners, on the burrs, on the chute geometry. You take the HOTO mini handheld vacuum cleaner, attach the narrow suction head, and completely suck up the residue in seconds. This is exactly what HOTO is made for: a compact cordless handheld vacuum with surprisingly strong suction power that keeps your grinding workflow cleaner than a brush or cloth alone.
HOTO is a brand for compact tools with a focus on precision and mobility. The HOTO mini handheld vacuum cleaner has established itself in the home barista community as a standard tool for grinder cleaning – strong enough for fine grinds, small enough for the chute geometry of typical coffee grinders. Coffee Coaching Club stocks the HOTO mini plus suitable HEPA replacement filters directly.
HOTO mini – not just a vacuum cleaner, but 4-in-1
What many overlook: the HOTO mini is not just a vacuum cleaner. It combines four functions in one housing – which explains the versatile scope of delivery.
Vacuuming – the main application in the coffee workflow
15,000 Pa suction power, brushless motor with 120 W power and up to 91,000 rpm, high-speed air pump with 500 L/min. Sucks up fine grinds, bean residues, and dust from the grinding chamber, bean hopper, chute geometry, and work surface. Immediately ready for use with the dust container correctly inserted.
Blowing – for grinding chamber and drip tray
Reverse function: instead of sucking, the HOTO blows out compressed air. For internal grinding chamber surfaces that a suction head cannot reach. For drip tray cleaning. For all places where loose grinds should be blown away before they penetrate further.
Inflating – with three valve adapters
The scope of delivery includes three air valve adapters: short, swimming ring, and long. This allows the HOTO to be used as a cordless air pump for balls, bicycle tires, swimming rings, camping equipment. Outside the coffee context, but a function that some home setups might find noteworthy.
Vacuum sealing
The fourth function: vacuum for vacuum bags or vacuum storage. For bean storage, this is an additional option, but in the specialty coffee sector, the Airscape solution with negative pressure in the container itself predominates. The vacuum function is more of a general-purpose feature.

HOTO HEPA filter 4-pack
HEPA replacement filter – 99.97% filtration down to 0.3 microns
HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) captures 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns or larger – far finer than what we have in a typical grinding chamber. HOTO HEPA filters are made of durable material and – importantly – washable and reusable. Practical filter change with a click-in design.
The 4-pack is not necessarily intended for regular "replacement," but as a reserve so you have a clean filter ready while washing another. For intensive café use with daily filtering, this could be used up in 6–12 months.
Who HOTO is for
Home baristas who work with precise single-dose grinders (e.g., Varia, Weber Workshops EG-1, Option-O Lagom, Mahlkönig X64 SD, Etzinger) and want to clean their grinding chamber regularly. Cafes that want to quickly purge the grinder between bean changes. Roasteries with a cupping area where beans are frequently changed. Anyone who wants to keep their espresso corner precise and clean and doesn't want to remove every coffee particle by hand.
For classic cleaning with a brush: Wiedemann Barista Brush or other classic tools from the Cleaning Collection. HOTO is the efficient modern choice for setups with a single-dose workflow and frequent bean changes. The choice is yours.
What goes well with it
For the grinder (HOTO complements any): Grinder Collection, especially for single-dose workflow with Varia, Option-O, Mahlkönig or Etzinger. For burr cleaning with organic tablets: Urnex Grindz. For brew group cleaning: Urnex Cafiza and BioCaf. For classic brushes: Wiedemann or Joe Frex. For Magnetic Towels: Flate Magnetic Barista Towel. For bean storage: Airscape. For Barista setup organization: Flate Barista shelves. For beans from our own roastery: CCC-Own Roasts with Cozy Chocolate, Nutty Delight, Wild Peach and Bright Cassis – clean bean changes with HOTO make single-dose tasting truly clean.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need HOTO or is a brush enough?
Both work. Brushes are gentle, silent, and classic. HOTO is faster and more thorough, especially with fine grinds that accumulate in chamber corners. Many home baristas have both: a brush for a quick wipe, HOTO for thorough cleaning when changing beans.
How loud is the HOTO mini?
Under 75 dB – that's in the range of a quieter household vacuum cleaner, significantly less than a large model. For quick grinder cleaning, it's perfectly fine. Noticeably louder than a brush sweep, but 30–60 seconds of use are uncritical.
How long does the battery last?
With a 1900 mAh Li-Ion battery, one charge is sufficient for many cleaning operations. For intensive use (several bean changes per day), USB-C charging is possible in between. The battery's standby half-life is several months – you don't need to keep it constantly plugged in.
How often do I need to replace the HEPA filters?
Here's the point: HOTO HEPA filters are washable and reusable. Instead of replacing them, you rinse them regularly and dry them completely before reuse. The 4-pack serves as a reserve so that a clean filter is always available while another is drying. For intensive café use or physical filter damage, replacement filters are recommended.
What does 4-in-1 multifunction mean?
Vacuuming, blowing, inflating, vacuum sealing – four functions in one device. In the coffee context, vacuuming and blowing are the frequently used functions. Inflating is a bonus function for outside the kitchen (balls, camping equipment). Vacuum sealing for vacuum bag applications.
Is HOTO also suitable for the work surface or the espresso machine?
Yes. For grinds on the work surface, bean residue on the bean jar, in the drip tray of the espresso machine. Anywhere where fine grinds or bean residue are present that a cloth cannot effectively pick up. Especially with a single-dose workflow with light roasts like Wild Peach or Bright Cassis, where unwanted residues from previous beans can cross-contaminate the flavor profile.
Can I view HOTO in the showroom?
Yes. In the showrooms in Bern and Zurich Oerlikon, we use HOTO as a standard cleaning tool.
