MHW-3BOMBER Switzerland – buy specialty tools with a design focus

MHW-3BOMBER has established itself in recent years as a serious player in the specialty barista tool segment. The brand combines engineering precision with a clear design language and a broad product portfolio: tampers, WDT tools, distribution levellers, knock trays, milk pitchers, dosing cups, cleaning brushes. Coffee Coaching Club carries the most important MHW-3BOMBER product lines in Switzerland.

What defines MHW-3BOMBER

Three traits define the brand. First, the value for money: Premium build quality (stainless steel, wooden handles, anodised aluminium) at noticeably fairer prices than the established premium brands. Second, the design variety: MHW offers its tools in various colours (black, white, red, blue, grey, wood tones) – ideal for home setups with a colour concept or cafés with clear branding. Third, the product range: from WDT tools to tampers to knock boxes, you get everything from a single source with consistent quality.

The main product families

Tamper families G6, FE, Vintage

MHW tampers in different lines: G6 as the modern standard with an ergonomic handle, FE as the minimalist variant, Vintage with retro design. Standard 58 mm and 53 mm versions available. Material: stainless steel with various handle options (wood, aluminium, acrylic).

Distribution tools and levellers

Distribution levellers in various depths and designs – for even distribution of the grounds before tamping. Prevents uneven pucks and the channelling that results from them.

WDT tools

Needle distribution tools with fine needles in various thicknesses – for breaking up clumps in the grounds. Effect: less channelling, more even extraction.

Knock trays and knock boxes

Knock boxes in various sizes and materials – from compact home versions to high-volume café solutions. Tasteful designs with wood or stainless steel housings.

Milk pitchers and dosing cups

Stainless steel milk pitchers in several sizes for latte art. Dosing cups for single-dose workflows with precise volumetrics.

Who MHW-3BOMBER is for

Home baristas and cafés who want premium build quality at a fair price – without compromising on quality or design. Anyone looking for a consistent setup with matching tools (for example WDT, distribution leveller, tamper, Knock Box in the same design). Anyone who wants colour or material personalisation that many premium brands don't offer.

For spring-loaded tampers, preferred: Normcore. For Italian classic tradition: Motta. For German wood tradition: Wiedemann. For the premium endgame: Weber Workshops. MHW positions itself as a specialty design line with a clear value-for-money advantage. That's your call.

Frequently asked questions

How does MHW differ from Normcore or Motta?

Normcore: spring-loaded tamper specialist with modular components and an exclusive Swiss importer relationship. Motta: Italian classic since 1929 with café-standard geometry. MHW-3BOMBER: design-focused, wide product range, colour personalisation, fair value for money. All three are valid – the choice follows your taste and style.

Which tamper size?

Standard portafilters (La Marzocco, Rocket, ECM, Profitec, Bezzera): 58 mm (often 58.3 or 58.5 specifically). Sage/Breville: 54 mm. Bezzera Strega or Aram lever: 53 mm.

Are WDT tools really necessary?

Clearly noticeable with single-dose grinders with static build-up. Also noticeable with hopper grinders with less static, but more subtle. For anyone who sees channelling in a bottomless portafilter – WDT eliminates it.

How do I clean MHW tools?

Stainless steel parts are dishwasher-safe. Clean wooden handles by hand and occasionally treat them with food-safe oil. Anodised aluminium parts by hand.

Can I see MHW in person before buying?

Yes. In the showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zürich Oerlikon (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) we carry the main MHW tools.
