MHW-3BOMBER BEP Precision Basket 54 mm 15 g – dual-layer filter basket
Freshly ground coffee falls into the compact 54 mm group head, you level it off and tamp – and as it pulls, the espresso flows calm and clear. Inside the basket, many fine, laser-drilled holes do their part.
Nobody needs a new basket. You want it – or you don't. That's a decision made out of curiosity, and we respect it either way.
What makes this basket special
The BEP – Butterfly Effect Power – works with dual-layer filtering: two stacked layers of holes catch fine particles before they reach the cup, for a clearer cup with less fines. The finely lasered holes, each 0.16 mm, spread the water evenly across the puck.
The base is reinforced and barely flexes under pressure – and exactly this kind of flexing is a common cause of channeling in the coffee bed. Straight walls and a flat base help with even tamping. We like to work with a 1:2 ratio and let the weight decide, not the stopwatch. It's our observation that basket choice fundamentally changes the aroma profile – that's our view, one of many.

Who it's for
For anyone with a 54 mm group head, as used by many Sage and Breville machines, who likes a clear cup with few fines. Every budget is welcome. You belong here because you love coffee – not because you run a particular basket.
What goes with it
For even distribution before the shot, a WDT tool and tamper in the matching 54 mm size help – affordable and precise from Normcore, with more material ambition from Weber Workshops.
You'll find the matching machine in our Coffee Machines Collection, the grinder in our Coffee Grinders Collection. A clean water inlet is ensured by a Puck Screen. Still deciding? Use our Advisor Tool.

Roastery tip
A clean basket helps, but the bean makes the taste. For a dense, sweet espresso we like reaching for Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight. If you love it full-bodied and round without any acidity, stick with Very Nutty; for a fruity experience, try Wild Peach in the grinder. This is our recommendation, one of many.
