A quick twist, and the nozzle emerges from the body. One spray lays a fine mist over the beans, you swirl them once in the cup, and into the grinder they go. Afterwards less coffee sticks to the spout, and less powder ends up on the counter. The RDT Spray Bottle by MHW-3BOMBER is a small tool from our grinder accessories for a cleaner grind.
RDT stands for Ross Droplet Technique. When grinding, the coffee becomes statically charged; it then clings to the spout and walls or flies off when you transfer it. A little water on the surface of the beans reduces this charge. The bottle holds around 10 ml, the body is made of aluminium and the water reservoir of borosilicate glass. The nozzle is recessed in the body and comes out with a twist, which keeps it protected from dust.
Put the weighed beans in a cup, twist out the nozzle and spray over the beans. Swirl or stir briefly, then grind as usual. In our experience one or two sprays per dose are enough: the beans should only be lightly moistened, not wet.
All parts can be removed, so you can clean the bottle thoroughly. We recommend filling it with fresh water and changing the water regularly.
At around 10 ml and around 25 g, the MHW-3BOMBER bottle is small and light and fits easily next to the grinder. If you prefer to keep more water in reserve, we also carry the Normcore RDT Spray Bottle with 30 ml.

For anyone who single doses and weighs their beans before grinding. For grinders where coffee clings to the spout or flies around when you transfer it. And for anyone who would like to clean less at the coffee bar.
Tip from our café: In our experience RDT makes a particular difference with light roasts, because more coffee often clings to the spout when grinding them. Try it with Wild Peach or Jungle Flower. With darker roasts such as Chestnut Delight, a single spray is often enough. That is our recommendation, one of many.
The MHW-3BOMBER Lightning WDT Tool 2.0 helps against clumps in the portafilter. You will find more accessories under grinder accessories and spare parts and barista equipment, all products of the brand under MHW-3BOMBER and freshly roasted beans under coffee beans.
