Why a second portafilter?

In a café workflow, a second (or third) portafilter is standard: while one is in use, the other is cleaned, dosed, and prepared. A second portafilter also makes sense for home use – for example, as a bottomless one for extraction control alongside the classic spout, or as a single-spout version for individual espressos with a smaller basket.

These universal portafilter bodies are designed to be compatible with both La Marzocco and Rocket Espresso machines. You can combine them with La Marzocco baskets for use in a La Marzocco machine, or with Rocket baskets for a Rocket. The M12 / 15° thread for handle connection allows free combination with original handles or aftermarket wooden handles (e.g., Specht Design, Pesado).

The Versions

Single Spout – classic single spout for one espresso per shot. Practical for solo setups and single-shot workflows.

Double Spout – two spouts for two espressos simultaneously. Note: the double spout points towards the handle (unlike the original Rocket portafilter, where the spout points towards the machine). If necessary, the orientation can be rotated with an Allen key.

Bottomless (Naked) – without a spout, the basket is directly visible. Allows visual control of extraction (channeling, even flow, crema formation). Standard tool for specialty baristas. Does not fit Bezzera machines with Bezzera brew groups.
