Cup Volume and Espresso Extraction – The Right Size

Espresso cups 60–80 ml: for classic single espresso (25–35 ml) or doppio (40–60 ml). The cup should have clear crema space – not too narrow (crema breaks), not too wide (crema spreads too thin).

Cappuccino cups 150–200 ml: 25–30 ml espresso + 100–150 ml frothed milk. Important for latte art: the cup should be intentionally conical upwards, with some crema retention at the upper rim.

Flat White cups 180–200 ml: similar to cappuccino, but with a stronger espresso proportion and less microfoam. Loveramics Egg 200 ml is the standard choice.

Latte Macchiato glasses or mugs 280–300 ml: for longer milk drinks. Transparent latte macchiato glasses dominate here, in which the espresso-milk layers remain visible.
