Hario V60 Pour Over Kit Porcelain 01 – the Starter Kit
A red porcelain cone sitting on the glass carafe, a paper filter in place, hot water poured in circular motions – and the coffee runs clear into the pot. That's really all a good start into pour-over needs.
The kit brings everything you need for the classic hand pour, matched to each other and in the iconic V60 shape. We carry Hario at Coffee Coaching Club.
What's in the kit
The V60 filter holder in size 01 is made of porcelain and holds heat well – that makes extraction more even. The conical 60-degree shape guides the water toward the centre of the coffee bed, and the spiral ribs lift the filter away from the walls so the coffee flows through evenly. Included are a pack of paper filters in size 01 and a glass carafe with red accents. Size 01 is designed for 1 to 2 cups.

Who it's for
For anyone getting into pour-over who wants a matched kit that works right away. If you regularly brew for several people, take a look at the larger size 02 – for example the V60 NEO 02.
What goes with it
The biggest difference comes from a grinder – freshly ground, pour-over tastes clearer. Take a look at the hand grinders or the electric grinders – a scale with timer from the Normcore range or the Acaia collection and a kettle from the Varia collection round out the setup. Filter paper refills in the Hario collection. Fresh beans like the fruity Wild Peach or the round Nutty Delight.
Frequently asked questions
How many cups is the kit for?
Size 01 is designed for 1 to 2 cups. For larger quantities, size 02 is the better fit.
Which filters fit?
Hario V60 filter paper in size 01, white or natural. Refills are available in the Hario collection.
Why porcelain instead of plastic?
Porcelain holds heat longer and doesn't affect the taste at all. For that reason, it should be briefly preheated with hot water before brewing.
Roastery tip
Preheat the porcelain filter holder before brewing with the water you use to rinse the filter – that way the temperature drops less during pouring and extraction stays more even. Beautifully bright and clear with Wild Peach. That's our recommendation, one of many.
