Hario MUGEN x SWITCH Dripper – One Pour, Two Methods
A single, steady pour – the water spreads through the straight ribs, the bed stays even, and the switch lets you decide whether the coffee steeps or drains straight away.
The MUGEN x SWITCH brings two ideas together: the MUGEN dripper is built for the one-pour method – you pour in a single, continuous stream, with no separate phases. The straight ribs and flat inner shape spread the water evenly and reduce channeling. The Switch base adds immersion on top: a steel ball holds the water back, and the lever releases it. We carry Hario at Coffee Coaching Club.
How it works
In pour-over mode, you pour once and the water runs through in a controlled way – simple and easy to repeat. In immersion mode, the ball holds the water back, the coffee steeps, and at the push of a button the cup drains. That way you get both clear and dense cups from the same dripper.

Who it's for
For anyone who likes it simple – one pour, minimal technique, an even result – while still keeping immersion open as an option. If you enjoy multiple pour phases, take a look at the V60 NEO.
What goes with it
Size 02 filter paper is available in our Hario Collection. Add a kettle from our Varia Collection, a scale from the Normcore range or the Acaia Collection and a grinder from our hand grinders. Beans like the fruity Wild Peach or the round Nutty Delight.
Frequently asked questions
What does the one-pour method mean for the MUGEN?
The water goes in as a single stream instead of several phases. The straight ribs spread it evenly and reduce channeling – which keeps brewing simple.
What's the Switch function for?
The steel ball holds the water back so the coffee can steep. At the push of a button it drains – letting you brew either as pour-over or as immersion.
Which filter paper fits?
Hario V60 filter paper in size 02, white or natural.
Can I see it before I buy?
Of course – you can experience the MUGEN x SWITCH live in Bern and Zürich Oerlikon.
Tip from our roastery
In one-pour mode, the cup stays bright and clear – ideal for a fruity profile like Wild Peach. With the Switch function and a longer steep, you get more body – lovely with Nutty Delight. That's our recommendation – one of many.
