Explore more →Press the button, and the brushless induction motor of the Pico spins up – calm, full, without the high-pitched whine of many other home grinders. This sound, this controlled release of power, is governed by its own circuit board: the Motor Board.
While the CPU Board handles the controls and programming, the Motor Board regulates the actual drive – rotation speed, start-up behaviour, the force that reaches the conical burrs. A defect here usually shows up directly at the motor: unusual noises, irregular running, or a motor that no longer starts at all.
Brushless induction motors run without carbon brushes, are low-maintenance and long-lasting – but driving this motor type needs its own electronics. That's exactly the job of the Motor Board, designated MG-EG. If the grinder runs unevenly, stops mid-dose, or the motor doesn't respond at all, the cause is often found here rather than in the burrs themselves.

For anyone with a Pico whose motor makes unusual noises, runs irregularly, or won't start at all any more. An electronic component inside the grinder – we recommend having it installed through our service.
Straight to the grinder in our Coffee Grinders Collection, where you'll also find the La Marzocco Pico itself. For dosing right on point, our coffee scales – compact and reliable with Normcore, or with app connectivity and flow-rate display with Acaia. More about your La-Marzocco setup can be found in our La Marzocco Collection.
Typical signs are unusual running noises, a motor that runs irregularly, or a motor that won't start at all any more.
That's La Marzocco's internal model designation for this Motor Board. If you're unsure whether it fits your Pico, our team is happy to help.
This is an electronic component inside the grinder. We recommend having it installed through our service, so the motor runs reliably afterwards.

Delivery takes 2–4 business days, throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein.
A motor that once again starts up calm and full deserves a coffee with substance too. Our main recommendation: Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight, dense, aromatic, full-bodied. For maximum body with virtually no acidity: Very Nutty. For anyone wanting to discover a fruity experience: Wild Peach, lively and always a discovery. Our recommendation from the roastery, one of many.
