Etzinger etzMAX LM – espresso grinder with integrated scale
One press of the red START button, the grounds fall loose and fluffy into the portafilter, and the display already shows the weight – the etzMAX LM combines precise grinding with weighing in a single device.
The etzMAX LM combines features of the etzMAX LightW and the etzMAX M. On request, it grinds directly into the portafilter, weighs as it goes, and is built for a clean, even shot.
Grinder, scale, and adjustment
The RRB mechanism with rotating grind ring and anti-static jig produces even, fluffy grounds and dissipates static charge. The built-in ACAIA scale works to an accuracy of around ± 0.1–0.2 g and can run in time or weight mode. Adjustment is simple: stepped macro in 0.1 mm increments and stepless micro in 0.01 mm increments. Retention is under 1 g, so almost no coffee stays behind in the grinder – ideal for single dosing.
Build and upgrades
The housing of the grinding mechanism is die-cast zinc (good heat dissipation), the grinder housing is aluminum, with a solid front plate and red START button in front. The modular build makes swapping components and cleaning easy. The grinder can be converted to a filter version (Filter Kit) and upgraded to the PLUS version with forced-air cooling. A new DC motor has been in use since 2022.
