Channeling, spraying, dripping, the formation of crema layers – all in real-time, right before your eyes.
A bottomless portafilter shows you the puck during extraction – with the Shot Mirror Mini, even from the perfect angle. You immediately recognize channeling (individual streams shooting through), feel if your distribution worked, see the first honey-like drops, followed by the dense build-up of crema. A learning tool you won't want to do without.
Black casing, compact size that also fits under a shallow cup. Angled mirror surface so you can look at it in a normal posture. From the factory in Schwanden GL.

For everyone who seriously wants to understand their extraction. If you use a bottomless portafilter and want to refine your distribution, this mirror is the simplest and most effective learning tool available. Our opinion: one of the distinguishing steps between "pulling espresso" and "understanding espresso".
Bottomless portafilter for Cremina or Maximatic: in the Olympia Express Collection. WDT tools and puck prep tools: the same collection. Precision filter baskets for additional optimization: IMS Precision Filter Baskets Collection.
The underside of your bottomless filter basket during extraction. You can see where the first stream exits, whether the espresso drips evenly from the entire puck surface, whether you have channeling (individual, early streams shooting through), or whether the distribution worked cleanly.
Yes. With a classic spouted portafilter, you only see the spouts – with a bottomless one, you see the filter basket directly. Only then does the Shot Mirror work.
Wipe the mirror surface with a soft cloth after each shot, occasionally clean with warm water. No abrasive agents – the mirroring must not be damaged.

The Shot Mirror is one of those tools you didn't know you needed – until you use it. Suddenly, you see distribution errors that you never would have noticed before. Profiling is a learning process, not an act of total control – the Shot Mirror helps you to be more honest with yourself. Our opinion, one of many.
