The original Mina portafilter in bottomless format – from the factory in Schwanden GL. As supplied by Olympia: bottomless and without a basket. This allows you to see the basket directly during extraction and control distribution and extraction in real time. For the basket itself, the Mina uses the 49mm standard – the same basket as the Cremina family.

Bottomless ex works
Unlike many other machines, the Mina portafilter is bottomless by design. You can see the entire underside of the puck during extraction – a diagnostic tool that usually has to be purchased separately. Channeling, spraying, the clean build-up of crema: everything directly visible.
Scope of delivery: Portafilter with handle, without basket
Important to know: As in the original Olympia range, the portafilter comes without a basket. The suitable 49mm basket (Cremina standard, 1 or 2 cups) is available separately – a deliberate concept, because you can choose between a single or double shot depending on the day.

Additions you need for a complete setup
49mm basket 1 cup (7–9 g) for single shot or 2 cups (14–16 g) for double shot. Since the 49mm Mina basket is identical to the 49mm Cremina basket, both basket variants from the Olympia Express Collection are compatible.

Why does it not come with a basket?
Olympia supplies the portafilter as a base, so you can choose a single or double shot depending on the day, without having to buy a second basket. If you only buy one, we recommend the 2-cup basket – it works more flexibly.
