Rocket R Cinquantotto Black – dual boiler espresso machine
Matte black, quiet, with the familiar E61 group at the front: the R Cinquantotto is the evolution of the well-known R58. Two separate boilers keep brew and steam temperature independently stable, and a detached touch pod keeps the programming away from the machine.
Coffee Coaching Club is Rocket’s partner in Switzerland. With your purchase, our private barista course is included (German or English, in Bern or Zurich), in which we introduce you to extraction and the espresso ritual.

Who it’s for
For anyone who wants separate boilers for maximum temperature control and steam power and appreciates the calm matte-black design. For the vast majority, a dual boiler doesn’t make measurably better espresso than a good heat exchanger – but it gives you more control and runs relaxed through many cappuccinos. You want it, or you don’t.
What goes with it
A grinder that can keep up: affordable from the Varia Collection, more from the Eureka coffee grinders or Weber Workshops. Tampers and distributors in the Tamper Collection, scales at Normcore or Acaia. The machine comparison helps with the choice.
Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference from the R58?
The R Cinquantotto is the evolution of the R58 with a revised control pod and modern look. The basic principle – dual boiler with E61 group – stays the same.
Can I charge devices on the pod’s USB port?
No. The USB port on the external pod is not intended for third-party devices – please don’t connect anything else.
Can I see the machine before buying?
Yes, in our showrooms in Bern and Zurich. Delivery throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein in 2–4 working days, click and collect and financing via Heylight available. For this machine we recommend collection on site.
Roastery tip
With separate boilers you have temperature headroom. Our Cozy Chocolate stays round and chocolatey, the Nutty Delight nutty and balanced. That’s our recommendation, one of many.
