Frequently Asked Questions about the Victoria Arduino E1 Prima

Is the E1 Prima a home machine?

Victoria Arduino classifies it as a professional single-group machine, and says it's also aimed at anyone who wants top-level espresso at home. At 411 × 510 × 379 millimetres, 37 kilograms and 1600 to 2600 watts, it's built to commercial standards, not as a purely domestic appliance.

What boiler system does it have?

NEO technology: a multi-boiler system with instant heating that only heats the amount of water needed for each shot. According to the manual, the steam boiler holds 1.5 litres. That makes it neither a classic single-circuit machine nor a heat exchanger.

Does the E1 Prima have T3 technology?

No. T3 Genius is only found on the E1 Prima PRO and on the Black Eagle Maverick models. Anyone who attributes T3 to the base Prima is mistaken.

What is EasyCream?

A dual steam wand that froths the milk and stops automatically. There's also «Steam by Wire», a dry-steam system running at 2.1 bar.

Can I control the machine via an app?

Yes. Temperature, dose, extraction time, energy-saving functions and a weekly schedule can all be set via the app. The display works through what's called a Ghost Display.

How long does it take to heat up?

Around 8 minutes until it's ready to use – noticeably faster than a classic machine with a heavy brass group head.

Does it have a pre-infusion function?

Victoria Arduino's product page and quick-start guide don't mention this. Dealers list an app-adjustable pre-infusion. We're therefore noting it as dealer information, not as a confirmed manufacturer spec.

What portafilter diameter does it have?

58 millimetres. This figure comes from dealer spec sheets; we couldn't find a millimetre figure on the manufacturer's own materials.

Sources: NEO, EasyCream, Steam by Wire, display and dimensions/classification per victoriaarduino.com; steam boiler volume from the user manual. Pump type, PID details, pre-infusion and portafilter diameter are documented only via dealers.
