Flair Espresso 58 and 58+ Preheat Controller
One button, three green lights: the preheat controller switches the electric preheating of your Flair 58 brew head and controls it in three levels. Order online, click & collect in Bern and Zurich.
According to the Flair manual, the levels Low, Medium and High correspond to around 85, 90 and 95 °C. The lights blink while heating and stay on once the temperature is reached. The elbow connector goes to the brew head, the second socket to the Flair 58 power supply.
Temperature helps decide which compounds dissolve from the ground coffee: higher tends to bring more body, lower more aroma and complexity. Which level suits your beans is something you discover in the cup, measured by brew ratio, 1:2 is a good start. Our opinion is one of many.

Does the controller fit my Flair?
Flair lists the Flair 58x with electric preheating, sold from May 2023. According to the Flair manual, the Flair 58+ and the Flair 58 from 2023 also use this detachable controller.
