La Marzocco Steam Tip 4-Hole 1.5mm – Cool-Touch Steam Wand – Original Spare Part
Your hand stays on the steam wand while the milk swirls – with the Cool-Touch version, that's not a risk, it's part of the design. At the end of this insulated wand sits a small stainless-steel tip with four openings that decides how powerful and how fine the steam ends up being.
At 1.5 mm, the openings are a bit more generous than on the classic version – a steam pattern that works wider and suits anyone who works a lot with milk and appreciates a somewhat gentler, more controllable swirl.
What the tip size has to do with milk texture
The size and number of the openings determine how much air gets worked into the milk during frothing and how quickly the milk warms up. Combined with the Cool-Touch insulation, which keeps the outside of the wand cool, the result is a tool that stays pleasant and safe to handle even with frequent use – say, in a busy kitchen or a small showroom setup.
As with any steam tip, fine milk residue settles in the openings over time. If steam pressure drops or the jet becomes uneven, the tip is usually the first place it shows – and the easiest place to fix it.

Who it's for
For anyone with a La Marzocco machine and Cool-Touch steam wand whose steam tip has lost power, or whose milk texture isn't as fine as it used to be. The replacement works without tools and without touching the wand itself.
Goes well with
For the milk itself, our milk pitchers are a good match – compact with Normcore, or more generously shaped with a Rhino or Weber Workshops pitcher. For regular cleaning of the steam wand and machine, take a look at our cleaning products. And for the whole machine, our La Marzocco collection gives you the right overview.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between Cool-Touch and the classic steam wand?
The Cool-Touch version stays pleasantly cool on the outside even while steaming, while the classic steam wand transfers heat more directly. The tips are sized accordingly.
How do I know the tip needs replacing?
A weaker, uneven, or crooked steam jet, as well as visible buildup in the openings, are the clearest signs.
How is the tip mounted?
It simply screws onto the thread of the steam wand – no special tools needed.
Can I see the product before buying it?
Yes, in our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) you can experience the original spare part live.
The roastery tip
Fine milk texture deserves an espresso with just as much character. Our main recommendation: Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight, dense, aromatic, full-bodied. For maximum body with no acidity at all: Very Nutty. For anyone who wants to discover a fruity experience: Wild Peach, lively and always a discovery. Our recommendation from the roastery, one of many.
