Eureka Atom W 65 Casa – Grind-by-Weight espresso grinder for home
In the kitchen in the morning, before the first sip: hook in the portafilter, press the button – the grinder stops itself at 18.0 grams. No taring, no re-weighing, no adjusting.
The Atom W 65 Casa is the home version of the commercial Atom W 65: the same Grind-by-Weight technology with integrated scale and 65 mm flat burrs made of hardened steel, plus a more compact housing with a 300-gram bean hopper. Coffee Coaching Club carries the Eureka lineup; Eureka has been manufacturing in Florence, Italy since 1920. Available in matte black and chrome.
What Grind by Weight means in everyday use
Most grinders dose by time – you set how long it grinds and hope the weight comes out right. Change the roast or adjust the grind size, and the amount often no longer matches. The Casa measures the weight of the grounds in real time and stops automatically at the set gram figure, with a tolerance of around 0.2 grams. In everyday use, that means: hook in, press, done – the grounds sit clump-free in the basket thanks to the ACE-System.
65 mm burrs and quiet operation
The 65 mm flat burrs made of hardened steel deliver an even grind and process 1.8 to 3 grams per second. Silent Technology noticeably dampens the grinding noise, while the ACE-System (Anti-Clump & Electrostaticity) reduces clumping and static buildup.
Controls and adjustment
The touch display with IPS technology guides you through two programmable weight doses and continuous grinding mode, adjustable in 0.1-gram increments. Grind size is adjusted steplessly and micrometrically – the system, patented by Eureka, allows fine adjustments for espresso. The portafilter fork holds the portafilter hands-free.

Who it's for
The Casa is aimed at home baristas who want a hopper grinder with Grind by Weight and can do without single-dosing. If you drink the same roast every day and appreciate a fast, uncomplicated routine, this is the right choice for you. If you switch between roasts constantly, a single-dose grinder gives you more flexibility, for example from the Varia collection – because hopper grinders inherently have a certain amount of retention in the burr chamber.
What you should know
- After larger grind size changes, the scale usually needs one to two runs to adjust to the new flow behavior.
- As a hopper grinder, it has a retention of around 2 grams; when switching beans, it's best to grind a few grams through first.
- At 436 mm tall, it's on the taller side – check beforehand whether it fits under your kitchen cabinets.
- The burr geometry is designed for espresso; for pure filter coffee, a brew grinder is the better choice.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the Casa and the commercial Atom W 65?
The Grind-by-Weight technology and 65 mm burrs are shared. The Casa has a more compact housing and a smaller 300-gram bean hopper, which makes it convenient for home use. The commercial Atom 65W is built for continuous use.
Do I need an additional scale?
Not for dosing the ground coffee – the integrated scale takes care of that. For the output weight in the cup, a separate brew scale still makes sense, to keep the extraction in check.
Is it suitable for filter coffee too?
It's built for espresso. For pure filter, a brew grinder is the better choice; you'll find suitable models in the Eureka grinders collection.
Can I see it before buying?
Of course. In Bern and Zürich Oerlikon you can experience the grinder live. Bringing your own beans is welcome.
Roastery tip
Grind by Weight shows its value through repeatability: you find a roast you like, set your gram figure – and in the morning you just press a button. Through the 65 mm burrs, Cozy Chocolate runs clean, as does Nutty Delight. 1:2 as a starting point. That's our recommendation, one of many.
