Plexiglass on a lever group does two jobs at once: it protects – and it shows. You can see the spring force at work without fingers getting where they don't belong. That's exactly why the LEVA has two transparent covers on its sides, one on the left and one on the right.
This is the left one, part number C.2.043.SX – in the Italian spare parts numbering system, SX stands for sinistra, meaning left. The right side is listed as C.2.043.DX and is a separate order item.
Plexiglass ages visibly: it turns milky, picks up fine scratches and eventually hairline cracks, usually starting at the screw holes. Another typical sign is a yellowish haze after years close to steam and cleaning agents. At the latest when a crack runs across the surface, the cover needs replacing – cracked plexiglass splinters.

This item is the left side only. The right one is C.2.043.DX. In addition, there are four more covers on the same group: C.2.042 and C.2.046 general, C.2.044 treated and C.2.045 black for the front. All are linked below, and all carry the number in the title.
For cafés where the LEVA is in full view of guests and a cloudy or cracked panel stands out immediately. And for service companies that sensibly replace both sides together – a new one next to a yellowed one is noticeable.
The counterpart is the right plexiglass cover. Also the screw for the lever group protective cover and the other covers C.2.045 black front, C.2.042 and C.2.044. Everything for the machine under La Marzocco LEVA spare parts.
Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
This is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement: we clean plexiglass only with warm water, a little washing-up liquid and a microfibre cloth – never with alcohol, glass cleaner or descaler. Alcohol is the surest way to turn a clear panel into a cracked one within weeks. Pair it with a cup of Cozy Chocolate; more under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or send us a quick message and we'll check the fit together. Your statutory rights regarding defective goods remain unaffected.
SX stands for sinistra, meaning left; DX for destra, right. This item is the left side. The right one is linked above.
No, they are two separate order items. We still recommend replacing both together – a fresh panel next to a yellowed one stands out.
We have no verified information on this, so we don't state a size. The part number C.2.043.SX is what counts.
Better not. Alcohol-based cleaners attack plexiglass and lead to fine cracks. Warm water with a little washing-up liquid is enough.
Yes. We have two locations: Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Send us a quick message and we'll have it ready for you.
