The Strada EP is the machine that makes people step up to the bar and take a look. The glass side panel is responsible for that: one continuous, reflective surface instead of sheet metal. That is exactly why a crack in this spot hurts twice as much – technically it changes nothing, but it is all you see.
This left glass panel is the matching original part. La Marzocco lists it under part number C.5.016.SX, which supersedes the older number C.5.002. “SX” stands for the left side.
The glass has a crack, a shell-shaped chip on the edge or a scratch that no polish will remove. It broke during transport or during servicing. The mounting hole is worn out and the panel no longer sits firmly. Or the machine is being brought back into top shape for an opening or a sale.

Before working on the housing, the machine is switched off, disconnected from the mains and allowed to cool down – behind the panel are the inner workings of the Strada. For the glass itself: it is never clamped directly against metal. The intended washers and nuts belong with it, in the correct order, and it is tightened only as much as needed for the panel to sit firmly. Too much torque shatters glass, often only days later.
For businesses with a Strada EP where a glass panel has been damaged, and for service workshops refurbishing a Strada.
The glass panel is fastened with the M8 nut. The red lettering is available as separate items for the glass panel and for the side panel of the EP1. The conical housing sits on the pressure gauge. Everything for the machine under La Marzocco Strada spare parts.
Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
This is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement: before installation, we never lay a glass panel flat on the bare workbench, but on a folded cloth. Most cracks don't happen at the machine, but in the two minutes before. Plus an espresso made from Cozy Chocolate, in peace and quiet, before you handle the glass. More under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or test fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
In the La Marzocco documentation, SX denotes the left side. The right panel has its own number and is a separate item.
No. The red lettering for the glass panel is a separate item and is linked above.
La Marzocco has changed the number. If your service documentation still shows C.5.002, C.5.016.SX is the current version of it. If in doubt, send us the serial number.
No. The glass panel is supplied. Nut, screws and washers are separate items – and these are exactly what you should order along with it when replacing the glass, instead of reusing old ones.
Yes. We have two locations: Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Drop us a quick line and we will have it ready – with glass, pickup is the safest option anyway.
