Getting the ModBar steam pipe sealed again
With the ModBar, only the outlet sits on the bar; the technology is underneath. That is exactly why a leak on the steam pipe first shows up as a noise or as a damp patch in the under-counter unit – and not where you are looking.
This service kit is the overhaul set for the steam pipe. La Marzocco lists it for the ModBar under part number 1101. It replaces the wear parts at the connection instead of swapping the entire pipe.
When it is due
Steam or moisture escapes at the joint to the steam pipe. A limescale trail coming from above appears in the under-counter unit. The pipe can no longer be aligned properly or sits loose. Or the system is going in for scheduled service and the steam side is being opened anyway.

Important for installation
The steam pipe carries steam under pressure, and with the ModBar the associated technical unit sits under the counter. Before any work, the system is switched off, disconnected from the mains, depressurised and allowed to cool down. You deliberately won't find step-by-step instructions here: the steam side is dismantled according to the service documentation, and anyone working on the under-counter unit should know which line goes where.

This is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement: on systems with the technology under the counter, we place a light-coloured cloth under the connection before opening it. Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fitting on the machine. So before ordering, please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or send us a quick message and we will clarify the fit together. Why is no machine model listed here as a tag?
The ModBar is a design of its own and not one of the models by which our machine categories are sorted. So rather than classifying it incorrectly, we name it in the text.
