A lever machine sells itself through the feel in your arm. The lever should run smoothly, without jerking, without play, with a clear point of contact when you start the pull. The rotary chamber is the component that creates this feel – and it is a wear part, because something moves inside it with every shot.
This service kit is the matching overhaul kit. La Marzocco lists it for the rotary chamber of the LEVA under part number 1004. It belongs to the family of LEVA service kits, alongside those for the piston and the pushrod.
The lever runs rough, jerks or catches at one point. It has developed play that was not there before. Moisture appears on the group where there was none before. Or the machine is due for its scheduled overhaul, during which the rotary chamber is opened anyway.

The rotary chamber sits in the brew group and carries hot water under pressure. Before any work, the machine is switched off, disconnected from the mains, depressurised and allowed to cool down. You will deliberately not find step-by-step instructions here: the lever group of a LEVA is dismantled according to the service documentation, partly with special tools, and the order of reassembly determines tightness and lever feel.
For service companies overhauling a LEVA, and for businesses with a lever machine that are preparing their overhaul and ordering the right kits in advance.
The roller for the rotary chamber works in the same chamber; it is guided by the needle bearing 9 × 19 × 12 mm and secured with the retaining ring D9. The complete piston and the puller belong to the same overhaul. Everything for the machine under La Marzocco LEVA spare parts.
Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
This is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement: before the overhaul we pull a shot and take note of how the lever feels – where it is heavy, where it runs easily. After reassembly we do the same. Without this comparison you only notice weeks later that something is different. Pair it with an espresso made from Cozy Chocolate. More under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
The scope follows the manufacturer's specification for number 1004. We do not have a parts list, and we do not list anything here that we cannot verify. Ask us about a specific part before ordering.
This kit belongs to the rotary chamber (1004). For the piston there is LM1001, for the pushrod 1002. Which assembly needs attention on your machine is shown by the diagnosis – not by the price tag.
There are dedicated tools for work on the LEVA group, such as the puller for the piston. Whether you need them for this kit depends on how far the group is dismantled.
We do not give a fixed interval here – it depends on shots per day, water and care. The honest advice: overhaul when the lever feel changes, not by the calendar.
