Why an even tamp matters
During the shot, water finds the path of least resistance. If the puck is unevenly compressed, it flows faster where it's looser, and the extraction becomes uneven. A consistent, evenly strong tamp lays the groundwork for that – it's half the battle for a well-rounded shot.
The Flash uses a three-spring system that holds a constant pressure of around 30 lbs; as soon as you reach that point, the quiet click gives the signal. A 15 lb spring is included for lighter pressure. The titanium base is sturdy, feels antistatic and holds back less grounds, and the handle combines wood and metal comfortably in the hand. Tamping isn't a rule, it's a craft – the Flash just makes it more repeatable. Our opinion is one of many.

How does the click feedback work?
As soon as you reach the set pressure of around 30 lbs, the mechanism gives a quiet click. That way you tamp with the same force every time, without having to estimate it.
Does the 58.35 mm tamper fit my portafilter?
It's made for common 58 mm portafilters, for example from La Marzocco, Gaggia, Rancilio or Ascaso. The slightly larger diameter sits closer to the basket rim and leaves less grounds behind.
Can I adjust the pressure?
Yes. Alongside the standard spring, a 15 lb spring is included if you prefer to work with lighter pressure.
Can I see the tamper in person before buying?
