Rocket Group Gasket 8 mm, Brew Head Seal – Original Spare Part

The portafilter slides into the group, turns a fraction, and then that quiet, solid click that means: sealed. Behind it sits a slim rubber ring between group and portafilter, holding against the full brew pressure, shot after shot.

Rubber loses tension over time under heat and pressure. As the gasket thins, the portafilter can be turned further before it locks in place – an early sign that it's time for a change. This 8 mm version is the standard thickness for Rocket E61 groups.

Who It's For

For anyone with a Rocket portafilter machine whose portafilter turns noticeably further than it used to before locking tight, or where coffee seeps out at the side of the group. One of the most affordable spare parts with the biggest impact on a tight shot.

Pairs Well With

For regular cleaning of the group, our cleaning products are a great fit. For tamping right after, our tampers help – reliable with Normcore, with noticeably more presence with Weber Workshops. Find more for your Rocket in our Rocket Espresso collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know the gasket needs replacing?

If the portafilter turns noticeably further than before, or coffee seeps out at the side of the group, the gasket is usually the cause.

Is there a difference to the 8.5 mm version?

Yes, we carry both thicknesses. The slightly thicker 8.5 mm gasket comes into play when the portafilter still turns too far past centre even with a new 8 mm gasket.

Can I replace it myself?

Yes, the gasket can be swapped with a simple tool (such as a screwdriver) without much effort.

Can I see the product before buying?

Yes, in our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zürich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) you can experience the original spare part in person.

The Roastery Tip

A portafilter that locks in with a solid click deserves beans that show the same care. Our main recommendation: Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight, dense, aromatic, full-bodied. For maximum body with no acidity at all: Very Nutty. For anyone looking to discover a fruity experience: Wild Peach, lively and always a discovery. Our recommendation from the roastery, one of many.
