Where the I189D burrs emphasize body and texture, the I200D burrs cleanly bring out individual aromas – especially with light to medium roasts and for filter coffee.

For Philos users who want to switch from the body-emphasizing I189D profile to clarity – or who want to vary between the two profiles. Fresh, sharp burrs cut more evenly, reduce outliers in particle distribution, and give you more control over extraction, especially with light profiles.
The I200D burrs are made for the Mazzer Philos. Suitable beans with a lighter profile like Wild Peach or a balanced classic like Nutty Delight. More in the Mazzer collection.
The I200D are designed for clarity and balance (light to medium roasts, filter, delicate acidity), the I189D for body and texture (classic espresso, medium to dark roasts). Both are 64mm flat burrs manufactured by Mazzer.
The I200D are the burr profile for the Mazzer Philos. If you are unsure whether they fit your setup, just ask us – we'll help.
With the Philos, the grinding chamber is tool-free accessible: remove the front plate, loosen two wing nuts, replace the burrs, put everything back in place. Recalibration is not necessary; afterwards, briefly check the grounds and adjust if necessary.

Fresh burrs noticeably change the grind size – after changing, it's best to start a bit finer and work your way to your setting over two or three extractions. With the I200D, it's worth trying a lighter profile like Wild Peach, whose fruit and acidity will come out more clearly. This is our recommendation, one of many.
