What makes the AKU special
The AKU is designed as a working scale for home use and café operation. It offers automatic tare and timer modes for espresso, as well as a fully manual mode where you control every variable yourself. The high-quality load cell measures with 0.1 g over the entire range, displayed on a clear 9-digit LED display. The casing is made of a cast alloy and CNC machined with a tolerance of 0.02 mm – stable, durable and insensitive to heat. The AKU is protected against jet water from all angles according to IPX5.

What goes with it
The AKU works with any portafilter machine, such as from La Marzocco, Rocket or ECM, and fits any grinder from the Varia Collection. If you are looking for a particularly flat travel scale, the AKU Mini is the slimmer sister; if you need larger capacity and a color display, it's worth taking a look at the AKU PRO.

Frequently asked questions
Is the AKU suitable for espresso and filter?
Yes. For espresso there are auto-tare and timer, for everything else the manual mode. The 0.1g accuracy is sufficient for both brewing methods.
Does the AKU fit on the drip tray of my machine?
With many machines, yes. If it has to be particularly flat, the AKU Mini with a height of 13 mm is the better choice.
Is the scale protected against water?
Yes, according to IPX5 against jet water from all angles – robust enough for everyday café use.
Roastery Tip
If you want reproducible shots, weigh the input and output. Set a ratio of 1:2 as a starting point – 18 g coffee, 36 g in the glass – and approach your taste from there. This is not a law, just a good start. This is our recommendation, one of many.
