The cover that sits between your hand and the lever mechanism
A LEVA works with spring force. The lever goes down, the spring is compressed, and when you let go it pushes the piston through the coffee. It’s a pleasure to watch – and that’s exactly why the group has covers: they keep fingers away from the mechanism and coffee splashes off it.
This item carries the part number C.2.046. The lever group of the LEVA has several covers with similar designations – so we list them all with the number in the title, so that nobody orders the wrong one.
When it’s due
The cover is cracked, chipped or has gone cloudy. It no longer sits properly and rattles during operation. Or it’s missing altogether because it wasn’t refitted during the last service – which you shouldn’t leave that way, because it’s a protective part, not a decorative one.

The six covers of the LEVA group
To make sure you get the right one, here’s the whole range: C.2.042 and C.2.046 are the two items listed generically as “group protective cover”, C.2.044 is the treated version, C.2.045 the black front one, C.2.043.SX and C.2.043.DX the two Plexiglas covers left and right. Your service documentation tells you which one is fitted to your machine – or send us the serial number and we’ll check it.
Who it’s for
For cafés with a LEVA up front, where the group is within reach of guests and staff every day, and for service businesses that overhaul a lever group and don’t want to refit chipped protective parts.
What goes with it
The other covers of the same group: C.2.042, C.2.044 treated, C.2.045 black front as well as Plexiglas left and Plexiglas right. The matching screw for the protective cover is available separately. Everything for the machine under La Marzocco LEVA spare parts.
Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
This is our routine, not a manufacturer specification: we clean the covers on the lever group only with warm water and a soft cloth, never with scouring cream or solvent-based cleaners. That’s exactly what makes them go cloudy. And we only screw them on hand-tight – overtightened covers crack at the screw hole over time. Enjoy a cup of Cozy Chocolate alongside; more under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured to order and cannot be resold after installation or trial fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we’ll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
How does C.2.046 differ from C.2.042?
The manufacturer’s list shows both as the group protective cover and gives us no distinguishing feature. That’s why we don’t claim one and put the number in the title. What counts is what your service documentation says.
What material is the cover made of?
We have no verified information on this. The two items explicitly listed as Plexiglas are C.2.043.SX and C.2.043.DX – this one is not designated as such.
Are screws included?
No. The screw for the protective cover of the lever group is a separate item and linked above.
May I operate the LEVA without this cover?
We advise against it. It’s a protective part on a spring-loaded mechanism. If it’s missing, it should be replaced before the machine goes back into service for guests.
Can I pick up the part at your showroom?
Yes. We have two locations: Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Drop us a line and we’ll have it ready for you.
