The stainless steel version of the Spring Clean is the original: clamp it in, start the shot, and the spring forces the collected water back through the brew group and 3-way valve with pressure. What used to be an annoying procedure with a blind filter becomes a single, effortless step.

How the Spring Clean Works
The brew water fills the 200 ml reservoir; when you stop the shot, the spring pushes the entire volume back through the brew group, the 3-way valve, and into the drip tray – approximately twenty times the amount of water of a conventional backflush shot, in one go.
What Defines the Metal Version
It is made entirely of cast and precision-milled stainless steel and designed for a long life. The Viton O-rings can be replaced if necessary – with good lubrication, they last a very long time, and a replacement set is included. The more affordable, transparent version for observation is available separately as Spring Clean Transparent.

Suitable for 58mm machines with a 3-way valve: all E61 brew groups, all La Marzocco except the KB-90, and Decent-compatible. Not suitable for machines with Bezzera-BZ brew groups.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference from the transparent version?
Functionally identical. The metal version is more robust and durable (cast stainless steel, Viton O-rings with replacement set). The transparent polymer version allows you to observe the process and costs less.
Does the Metal Spring Clean fit my machine?
For 58mm machines with a 3-way valve: all E61, all La Marzocco except KB-90, Decent-compatible. Not for Bezzera-BZ brew groups.
How often should I backflush?
Daily with clear water and additionally with cleaner approximately every 50 shots.
Roastery Tip
Keep the Viton O-rings lightly lubricated for smooth piston gliding and extended seal life. A quick cycle after the last shot of the day keeps the brew group free of old oils. This is our recommendation, one of many.
