The handle you use to control the steam

The steam valve knob is the control element that determines the quality of a machine in everyday use. If it sits firmly and the spindle runs smoothly, you can dose the steam with precision. If it has play, every milk foam becomes a guessing game.

This knob carries the part number F.1.295 and belongs to the LCS series. It is considerably larger and of higher quality than the small plastic knobs – you notice that in the price and in use.

When it is due

Before replacing it, take a quick look: often it is not the knob but the valve spindle that is worn. These signs point to the knob:

  • The knob turns loosely on the spindle.
  • Visible cracks, chips or a warped shape.
  • The screw connection no longer grips properly.
  • The surface is so worn that it can no longer be cleaned hygienically.

Who it is for

For businesses that want to restore an LCS to its original condition, and for anyone who values a properly seated steam handle more than the cheapest replacement.

What goes with it

From our workshop
At every service in Bern and Zurich, we check the valve spindle first before ordering a knob – the play is often there and not in the handle. That is our own sequence, not a manufacturer's specification. Then we reassemble and pull an espresso for calibration, usually with Very Nutty, because its body makes even small deviations visible.

Returns excluded
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured to order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between this knob and the cheaper M20 knob?

They are two different parts of the same series with different part numbers, F.1.295 and F.1.208. We use the serial number to find out which one is fitted to your machine.

Is the cover included?

No. The knob is supplied. We stock the cover as a separate part.

Can I replace the knob myself?

Yes, it is accessible from the outside. Let the machine cool down first and close the steam tap completely.

Is the knob also available in other colours?

We only have this one version. If you are looking for a special colour, send us an enquiry and we will check availability.

Can I pick up the part at your showroom?

Yes. We have two showrooms: Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Drop us a line with the part you need, and we will have it ready and look at it together on your machine.

Not sure whether this part fits your machine? Write to us with the model and serial number at [email protected] and we will check it for you. We deliver across Switzerland and to Liechtenstein in 2-4 working days.
