The white cover panel on the steam side of the GS3

This front panel closes off the GS3 on the steam handle side and holds the cut-out for the lever. In white, it is the most eye-catching component of the entire machine – and therefore also the one that shows every trace of milk and every drop of coffee.

White is unforgiving. Over time, coffee oil seeps into fine scratches and leaves brownish shadows that stay put when you wipe. Where the lever has been working for years, the cut-out widens and the steam handle develops play. Part number C.1.043.50.

When it's due

  • Brownish shadows in the surface that can no longer be wiped away.
  • Yellowed areas around the steam section.
  • The cut-out around the lever is worn out.
  • Chipped coating on the edges.
  • The panel is dented and no longer sits flush.

Important installation notes

To replace it, the front has to be opened. Behind it are the steam section and wiring. Disconnect the machine from the mains, let it cool down completely and depressurise it. We deliberately don't provide step-by-step instructions here.

Who it's for

For anyone with a white GS3 whose steam side no longer looks fresh – and for workshops putting a worn lever opening back in order.

Goes well with

From our workshop

On white machines, in Bern and Zurich we wipe the front once a week with a cloth and a little mild soapy water before coffee oil can soak in. If you keep that up, you'll save yourself the replacement for years. Afterwards we test with an espresso made from Nutty Delight. Our routine, not a manufacturer specification.

Returns excluded

Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fit on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick line and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.

Frequently asked questions

Is the steam handle included?

No. Only the cover panel is supplied.

Does white turn yellow over time?

Directly above the steam section, the shade can change slightly over the years. Regular wiping slows this down considerably, but it can't be stopped.

Is the panel also available in other colours?

Yes, in black and in chrome. We've linked both.

Does it fit the display side?

No. The cut-outs of the two front panels are different.

Can I see the part in your showroom?

Yes. We're in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Bring along your machine's serial number or the old part, and we'll compare right at the counter.
