A hex head calls for a ring spanner or a socket, not an Allen key. La Marzocco uses it where proper tightening is needed and where there is enough room to fit a spanner – on brackets, supports and load-bearing fastenings.
This item is M6 with a length of 18 millimetres, part number I.1.015. It is considerably more expensive than an ordinary hex head screw from a standard parts supplier because it is listed as a separate spare part item.
The spanner flats are rounded off because pliers were used instead of a spanner. The head shows signs of rust. The thread runs rough, or the screw has stretched while being unscrewed. In all these cases: do not reuse it, replace it.

If the screw sits inside the machine, the machine is first disconnected from the mains, depressurised and allowed to cool down. Hex heads tempt you to apply real force with a long spanner – with M6 in aluminium or plastic, the thread strips faster than you might think. We deliberately do not provide step-by-step instructions here.
For service workshops that reassemble true to the original, and for anyone who wants to replace a damaged hex head screw without having to guess in the standard parts catalogue.
Other M6 items in our range are the M6 × 10 button head screw, the M6 × 10 socket head cap screw and the M6 × 50 screw. For the rear foot there is the M10 × 25 screw. Everything else is under Original spare parts and La Marzocco accessories and spare parts.
Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
This is our routine, not a manufacturer specification: with hex heads we always use a ring spanner or a socket, never an open-ended spanner. An open-ended spanner grips only two flats and is the most common reason a head gets rounded off. Meanwhile, Very Nutty is running in our workshop; the full range is under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a short message and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
We have no verified information on this, so we do not state one. It is best to measure the removed screw or write to us – we will check it using the number I.1.015.
Our documentation says nothing about this either, and we make no claims. It is the original part from La Marzocco.
Because it is listed as a manufacturer spare part item and not as bulk goods. You get the part that, according to the service documentation, belongs in this position.
The item description does not name an assembly. Take the number from your service documentation, or send us the serial number of your machine.
