For the lever group protective cover, La Marzocco lists a version that the spare parts list explicitly describes as treated – “treated” in the original. The listing doesn't tell us exactly what treatment that is, and we won't make one up. What is certain: it is a separate item with the number C.2.044.
Its job is the same as that of the other covers on the group: it keeps fingers away from the spring-loaded lever mechanism and splashes away from the moving parts.
The surface is worn, dull or stained. There are cracks, usually starting from the screw holes. The cover rattles when you pull the lever or no longer sits flush. Even if it wasn't refitted at all after a service, it should be replaced – it is a protective part.

The complete series on the same group: C.2.042 and C.2.046 as generally listed protective covers, C.2.044 (this one) in the treated version, C.2.045 in black for the front, and C.2.043.SX and C.2.043.DX in plexiglass, left and right. We'd rather point out openly how similar the designations are than have someone order twice.
For businesses whose service documentation specifies exactly this version, and for technicians who want to reassemble true to the original. If you're not sure which of the six covers is fitted to your machine, better ask us first – original spare parts are excluded from exchange.
The other covers: C.2.042, C.2.046, C.2.045 black front, plexiglass left and plexiglass right. Plus the screw for the protective cover. Everything for the machine under La Marzocco LEVA spare parts.
Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
This is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement: before removal, we photograph every cover in place and put it aside labelled with a strip of tape and its number. With six similar parts on one group, that's not excessive effort but the difference between one order and three. Meanwhile, we have Very Nutty running; more under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick line and we'll work out the fit together. Your statutory rights regarding defective goods remain unaffected.
The manufacturer's list shows the item as “treated” without describing the treatment. We pass that on exactly as it is and don't claim any coating we can't prove.
We can't judge that as long as the treatment isn't described. Order the version listed in your service documentation.
Both are covers for the same lever group, but separate items with their own numbers. We're happy to check which one is fitted to your machine using the serial number.
No. The matching screw is a separate item and linked above.
Yes. We have two locations: Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Drop us a quick line and we'll have it ready for you.
