The E61 group head lever glides upward, the familiar click, and as the first espresso runs into the cup, the built-in shot timer counts the seconds. Chrome-plated brass, a calm presence on the counter – the Giotto has been one of the most familiar silhouettes at Rocket for years.
Coffee Coaching Club is a partner of Rocket in Switzerland. With every new coffee machine from CHF 1'500, a private barista introduction course of around 60 minutes is included – in Bern, Zurich or online, for up to two people from the same household or company attending together. The course must take place within one month of delivery; after that, the entitlement expires. Get in touch with us for the course and we'll find a date together.
Brewing and steaming at the same time: the heat exchanger draws brew water through the steam boiler, so espresso and milk foam succeed one after another without any waiting.
The thermosiphon-heated E61 group provides temperature stability and a gentle mechanical pre-infusion that wets the puck before full pressure builds.
The built-in Cronometro measures extraction time, the PID control keeps temperature constant – two values that let you track your shot reproducibly.
The rotary pump runs quietly and can be operated either from the tank or via a direct water connection.

The Giotto Cronometro R fits into any kitchen where espresso and milk drinks are made often and regularly. If you value a direct water connection and a quiet rotary pump, this is the machine for you. Nobody needs a Giotto – you want one. That's an emotional decision, and that's exactly as it should be.
A machine is only as good as its grinder. For an affordable, precise grind, reach for a Varia from our Varia Collection; if you want more, take a look at the Eureka grinders or the Weber Workshops grinders. For clean puck prep, you'll find tampers and distributors in our Tamper Collection. For dosing by weight, a Normcore scale or a Acaia scale. Not sure which to choose? Our machine comparison can help.
The R has a rotary pump and can be connected to a direct water line, the V runs on a vibration pump and works from the tank only. Technically, both brew identically.
As a heat exchanger machine with an E61 group, expect around 20 minutes until the group is fully warmed through and the shot runs stable.
Yes, you can see it live at our showrooms in Bern and Zurich. Delivery across Switzerland and to Liechtenstein in 2–4 business days, Click and Collect available. Financing via Heylight possible.
A heat exchanger machine with E61 likes dense, round beans. Our Cozy Chocolate and the Nutty Delight work well with milk and on their own. That's our recommendation, one among many.
