Profitec Pro 600 QS – Dual Boiler with E61 and Quick-Steam

The Pro 600 with faster steam: the QS version delivers steam quickly through its Quick-Steam tilt valves, and otherwise shares the proven dual boiler technology with two independently controllable boilers and a massive E61 group head. On request it can also run as a single boiler – from Profitec, a German manufacturer based in Bammental near Heidelberg, handcrafted in Germany and Italy.

Coffee Coaching Club is a partner of Profitec in Switzerland. With every new coffee machine from CHF 1'500, a private barista introduction course of around 60 minutes is included – in Bern, Zurich or online, for up to two people from the same household or company attending together. The course must take place within one month of delivery; after that, the entitlement expires. Get in touch with us for the course and we'll find a date together. Financing is also available for the Pro 600 QS on request.

All features at a glance

Dual boiler with two PIDs

The coffee boiler and the steam/hot water boiler are separate and independently adjustable via the PID display, including a seconds display for shot time. If needed, it can run as a single boiler.

Quick-Steam

The professional Quick-Steam tilt valves deliver steam quickly and with finer control – practical when you want to froth milk right after your espresso. The standard Pro 600 uses classic rotary valves instead.

E61 group head and boilers

E61 group head with stainless steel bell for 58 mm portafilters, coffee boiler 0.75 L, steam boiler 1 L, both stainless steel and insulated, two 1000-watt heating elements, boiler and pump pressure gauges.

Equipment

Programmable ECO mode, cleaning reminder, vibration pump, 2.8 L water tank with adapter, automatic shut-off in case of low water. Weight around 24 kg. Included: two portafilters, filter baskets, blind filter, brush and manual.

Who it's for

For everyone who wants the dual boiler control of the Pro 600 and values fast steam – for example when milk drinks follow one another frequently. Whether an E61 group head or a saturated group suits you better is ultimately a matter of taste: we notice a somewhat more refined aroma profile with saturated groups, but that's our view, one of many. Espresso is complex, but not rocket science – what matters is what tastes good to you.

What goes with it

For a grinder that grinds reliably and without detours: the Varia grinders. If you're also after a precision tool for home, the Weber Workshops collection has the right grinder. It's similar with scales: Normcore for anyone who wants it compact and precise, Acaia for anyone who values app connectivity and a flow-rate display. Add a Normcore or Weber Workshops tamper and fresh beans like Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between the Profitec Pro 600 QS and the Profitec Pro 600?

The QS version has Quick-Steam tilt valves for faster, more finely controllable steam. The dual boiler, E61 group head and the rest of the equipment are identical.

Can I use the Profitec Pro 600 QS as a single boiler?

Yes. The steam boiler can be switched off, so you can run it as a single boiler.

How long does heating up the Profitec Pro 600 QS take?

Plan for around 15 minutes so the E61 group head is stable at temperature.

Can I see the Profitec Pro 600 QS before buying?

That depends on whether the Profitec Pro 600 QS is on display right now. Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich Oerlikon (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – it is too large for that, and the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the Profitec Pro 600 QS is currently there.

Roastery tip

Choose the brew temperature to match the bean and use the fast steam to texture the milk right after extraction – that way the espresso stays fresh while you froth. For most of us, dense, chocolatey roasts like Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight work especially well. If you like it maximally nutty with no acidity at all, reach for Very Nutty. That's our recommendation, one of many.
