La Marzocco Strada X 2-Group – Espresso Machine with Pressure Profiling by Weight
Two portafilters, two pressure curves, two target weights – and each group follows its own profile, independent of its neighbor. That's exactly where the Strada X shows itself in the daily business of a specialty café: when both stations run at once, each stays programmed exactly as you set it up. The Strada X is the most technically dense machine in the La Marzocco family: born from two years of work with thirty baristas worldwide, the "Street Team" ("strada" means street in Italian – hence the name). This 2-group version is built for medium-volume operations, where two parallel stations are enough.
At Coffee Coaching Club, we are partners of La Marzocco and a coffee roastery in one – we support you through configuration, installation, training, and service.
All Features at a Glance
Pressure Profiling by Weight
Pressure profiles can be linked to an adjustable target weight – through an algorithm developed by La Marzocco. This keeps the result consistent from cup to cup, even with unusual pressure curves.
Smart Saturation
The pressure sensor built into the group head runs through pre-infusion automatically and fully saturates the coffee puck before the pump kicks in. This lets water flow through the puck evenly – the basis for repeatable results.
Saturated Brew Groups
The saturated brew groups keep the temperature very stable, cup after cup – the thermal backbone of every La Marzocco.
Separate Boilers and Pumps
A separate boiler for each group head allows different brew temperatures at the same time, and a separate steam boiler delivers the steam pressure you want. An external pump supplies the constant pressure for Smart Saturation, while separate pumps allow different pressure profiles to run in parallel.
PID Temperature and Pressure Control
Separate brew temperatures per group and steam boiler with an accuracy of 0.05 °C, plus PID-driven pressure control for custom pressure curves.
Straight-In Portafilter with Steam Flush
The portafilter slides straight in instead of being twisted into place – faster, gentler on the puck, easier on the wrist. The automatic steam flush cleans the group head after each shot.
Integrated Scale and Operating Modes
A scale built into the drip tray combines precise drip prediction with the pressure profiles. Operate it in manual mode, via saved profiles, or in AV mode with a fixed target weight. Plus Pro-Touch steam wands that stay cool on the outside, and a Hot Water Economizer for precise hot water temperature.

Installation and Service
The Strada X is produced upon order and ships from the factory without a plug. For professional commissioning, we recommend the installation package and the limescale protection filter installation – both are automatically added to your cart as soon as you add the machine. Purchasing a La Marzocco includes a barista workshop for your team (at one location, up to three team members, German or English).
What goes with it
You'll find the right grinder for café operations in the Mahlkönig range, and care products under Machine and Grinder Cleaning. More La Marzocco in the La Marzocco Collection.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does pressure profiling by weight mean on the Strada X?
Pressure profiles can be linked to a target weight. An algorithm from La Marzocco keeps the result consistent, even with custom pressure curves.
What is Smart Saturation?
The integrated pressure sensor runs through pre-infusion automatically and fully saturates the puck before the pump kicks in – for even flow and repeatable shots.
What type of business suits the Strada X 2-group?
Specialty cafés with medium volume that need two groups working in parallel. Each group profiles independently, with its own target weight and its own pressure curve.
How does the Strada X 2-group differ from the 3-group version?
The 3-group Strada X is built for higher throughput: one more group and a wider front (103 instead of 83 cm). Technically, both versions work the same way – pressure profiling by weight, Smart Saturation, and saturated brew groups.
Can I see the product before buying?
Yes, you can experience the Strada X live in our showrooms in Bern and Zürich.
Roastery Tip
A machine that runs pressure curves by weight invites experimentation – especially with lighter roasts. As a roastery, we tune profiles to your business, from chocolatey and round like our Cozy Chocolate to livelier, fruitier cups. Talk to us. This is our recommendation, one of many.
