AeroPress XL – the large coffee press with carafe
More ground coffee, more water, one long calm plunge – and the included carafe collects enough for two, without brewing a second time.
The AeroPress XL is the double-sized version of the Original. It brews on the same principle of immersion and light pressure, but holds larger quantities and comes with a carafe the coffee flows directly into. We carry AeroPress at Coffee Coaching Club.
For larger quantities
One brew makes around 500 ml of ready-to-drink coffee, with a stronger concentrate and dilution even more. For the larger quantity, you grind a bit coarser than with the Original. Dedicated XL filters are used, and unlike the Original, AeroPress doesn't recommend inverted brewing here — and you'll need a kettle, since the press doesn't heat the water.

Who it's for
For everyone who regularly brews for two or likes larger cups and doesn't want to press twice. If you brew alone or want to travel light, the AeroPress Original or the AeroPress Go is a great fit.
What goes with it
For a coarser, even grind, a grinder from our hand grinders or electric grinders. For dosing, a scale from the Normcore range or the Acaia collection, plus a kettle from the Varia collection and XL filters from the AeroPress collection. Beans like Cozy Chocolate or the fruity Wild Peach.
Frequently asked questions
How much coffee does the XL make?
Around 500 ml of ready-to-drink coffee in one brew, so two to four cups – with a stronger concentrate and dilution, correspondingly more.
Which filters do I need?
The larger AeroPress XL filters. The regular AeroPress filters don't fit. They come in a paper and a stainless steel version.
Can I brew the XL inverted?
AeroPress doesn't recommend inverted brewing for the XL — you brew in the upright position, directly into the carafe.
Can I see it before buying?
Sure. In Bern and Zürich Oerlikon you can experience the AeroPress XL live.
Roastery tip
For the larger quantity we grind a bit coarser and reach for a full-bodied bean like Cozy Chocolate. If you like it light, lengthen a light profile like Wild Peach with a bit more water. That's our recommendation, one among many.
