Weber Workshops Blind Tumbler – Dosing and Redistribution Tool for 58 and 49mm

You grind single doses directly into the cup, briefly stir the grounds, place the tumbler on the portafilter, and pull the stopper. The powder falls evenly and clump-free into the basket – no spoon, no tapping, no coffee grounds on the counter.

The Weber Workshops Blind Tumbler is made of anodized aluminum with a polished-smooth interior surface. Coffee Coaching Club is the exclusive Swiss importer of Weber Workshops.

What makes the Blind Tumbler special

If the grounds are unevenly distributed in the portafilter, with clumps and gaps, the brewing water will find the path of least resistance – causing channeling. Briefly stirring in the tumbler breaks up static clumps and distributes the powder before you even tamp. According to Weber, this reduces static and channeling and increases extraction yield. The polished interior surface is so smooth due to a special process that the grounds slide out almost residue-free – without any coating.

Unlike the Blind Shaker, the Tumbler deliberately has no lid and is designed for both common portafilter sizes: 58 and 49 mm.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a Blind Tumbler and a Blind Shaker?

The Tumbler has no lid and fits 58 and 49 mm – you stir and pour. The Shaker has a lid for shaking, but only fits 58 mm.

Does the Tumbler fit 49mm machines like the Cremina?

Yes, it is designed for 58 and 49 mm.

Why is the Tumbler not dishwasher safe?

The non-stick interior surface is a mechanical polish, not a coating. Dishwashers and aggressive detergents can damage it. Warm water and a soft cloth are sufficient.

Why does the Onyx version cost more than Silver?

The black anodization requires an additional step. Functionally, both are identical.

Roastery Tip

A brief, gentle stir is enough – too vigorous mixing tends to compact fine grounds rather than help. After that, a WDT and an even tamp, done. With balanced profiles like our Cozy Chocolate, the process is particularly forgiving. This is our recommendation, one of many.
