The counter-bearing without which the spring pushes into thin air
A spring needs two points: one it pushes against and one it moves. The spring support in the steam and water valve of the Appartamento TCA is the first of these. It takes up the spring force and transfers it into the valve mechanism, neatly centred and without tilting.
If the support is worn, deformed or sits askew, the spring loses part of its effect, or it pushes unevenly. The result then looks like a tired spring or a poor seal – but it isn't. This item is the spring support with part number A219909448.
When it's due
- The steam or water tap keeps dripping even though the seal and spring have been replaced.
- The removed support shows a worn contact surface or a groove.
- It is deformed, so the spring no longer sits centred.
- Corrosion or limescale deposits have attacked the contact surface.
- The valve is being overhauled – then it should be replaced together with the spring and seal.

Important for installation
The support sits in a pressurised assembly on the boiler. Switch off the machine, unplug it, and let it cool down completely and depressurise. We deliberately do not give step-by-step instructions here. From experience: if you're opening the valve anyway, replace the seal, spring and spring support in one go – otherwise the valve will soon be back open on the workbench.

That's our routine, not a manufacturer requirement, but with an assembly of shaft, spring, support and seal it saves exactly the hassle that otherwise arises during reassembly.
