The brew lever handle – the part you touch with every espresso
On the Appartamento, the brew lever is the only control that really transmits force. Every espresso starts with raising it and ends with laying it back down. Over the years that adds up to tens of thousands of grips – so the handle itself is the part of this machine that shows wear first.
This spare part is the handle for the TCA generation of the Appartamento. It fits onto the lever from the outside and can be changed without touching the machine's internals.
When it is due
The handle is due when the surface has become worn, glossy or cracked; when it turns on the lever instead of sitting firmly; when a piece has broken off and the edge presses into your hand; or simply when it has stains after water damage that can no longer be removed. By the way, a loose handle is more than just unpleasant: it distorts your feel for where the lever is.

Who it is for
For anyone whose Appartamento runs flawlessly from a technical point of view and where only the most-used handle no longer looks good. Replacing it is one of the few jobs on this machine that doesn't require opening the housing – provided the machine is switched off, unplugged and cooled down.

Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
When a handle wobbles, we don't replace it straight away. First we check whether the fastening on the lever has come loose – that's the more common case and done in two minutes. Only when the handle itself is worn out does a new one go on.

No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or send us a quick message and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.

Is the lever itself included?
No. This item consists solely of the handle that sits on the lever.
Does the handle also fit an older Appartamento?
Part number A839907915 is specified for the TCA generation. For older years of manufacture we cannot derive this from the documentation, so we don't claim it. Send us the serial number and we'll check it.
What material is the handle made of?
The material is not specified in the documentation, so we don't name one. You can see the version in the product image.
Do I need tools to change it?
Usually a screwdriver is enough for the fastening on the lever. Because this is solved differently depending on the version, we don't give instructions here. Ask us if you're unsure.
Can I look at the part in a showroom?
Yes. Bring the removed part to our showroom in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 or in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b, and we'll compare it directly with the spare part and you can take it with you right away.
